edit: Also, my name is Keoki in the guild, and I was mistaken when I said earlier that green items > blue items. Apparently the lowbie blue I found on like my 10th mob I killed was probably pretty good for level 2-8. Since my first green was so much better, I dumped it.

I played literally all day yesterday, and I've failed the adult ID registration so many times that it won't let me try to enter one anymore... so uh.

As for how to use Power Shards, the default hot key is "b".

Please tell me that power shards are not the same thing as that soul shot shit L2 used. I hated that shit so much. Talk about adding extra tedium, and cost just to make your attacks a bit stronger. Even on the 50x servers where money and exp flowed like water it was a pain in the ass. I imagine with the real game keeping a stock of S-Grade (I think that was the best?) must of been a never ending bitch to deal with.

They are the same, definitely not required though... I don't think there's a caster version either. Mobs also drop them.

Installed as per screenshots earlier in thread. Updated through patcher. Selected 2nd option on the left. Installed the ENU.pak. Modified and set to Readonly the versionInfo_AION.ini.

Now what? Every button and link sends me to a web page or starts up a new file scan (which then replaces the the removed L10N files.)

Look at your .ini file again, change the values (it reset on me first time using patcher) and make sure it's read only.

Reminds me the most of a higher resolution Guild Wars. It's probably one of the best looks/performance ratios of any game I've played.

Only bad thing is I get weird stuttering every once in awhile. I never drop below 30FPS, but it gets janky when I go from 150 to 30 in a split-second time frame. Other than that, I have no issues.

We should all be well aware by now if something makes your character stronger then it is required. They may not be required for leveling up, but group/raid content will demand them because leaders will want the guy doing 1100 dps + shard instead of the guy doing 1000dps with no shards. Numbers pulled out of my ass obviously but you get the idea. Using them will give the dps edge meaning if you want to be a melee dps class you will have to get ready for extreme button smashing to be at the top of your game.

While a small annoyance in the grand scheme of things it is tedium for tediums sake which is one of the biggest complaints people around here have about asian MMOs to begin with. The fact that someone thought soul shot was a great idea and wanted to transfer it over makes me nervous about what other "amazing" ideas they thought Aion needed.

The thing that always pissed a lot of people off about soul shot is how easily they could of killed the tedium with it. Have a switch, if its on then you use shards/soul shot every attack for boosted damage. Turn it off, and you don't use it anymore. Everyone wins, and we don't have to molest the fuck out of our "b" keys.

What little I've seen of the game is pretty neat, looking forward to the NA release. It's just about damn near impossible to do anything productive in game though. Lots of server disconnects for me, but it's in beta... and in China so ya.

Heh, then it is not exactly like soul shot which I asked. They might of added a toggle to soul shot later on but the server I played on required you to macro the stuff and spam it for effect. That is what I was referring to with shards. If its a toggle, then good for them.

Edit: Having looked it up now it seems (at least from you tube videos) that its passive with L2 as well. Makes me wonder now if I just played on a server with a sadistic prick in charge. Oh well...

It wasn't always auto consume, but has been for many years now.

Aions soulshots give you +15 or some similar shit, I only use them in PvP, and don't even know why since im hitting for 2k.
