| Making kinah is simple no doubt, just making enough to buy decent gear in an inflated economy is where the problem lies. The cheapest 40 blue sword I can find on azphel is running 10 million. Grinding klaws on krotan rock provides decent cash flows, but not on that level unless I want to bankrupt myself. As a non crafter 40 Templar I've got a little over 5 million on me at the moment. |

Where you CAN make money as handi/weaponsmith while NOT being expert is make the level 33 Weapons into worthy nobles (or the handi equivalent). An expert can buy those and upgrade it to expert and resell it for relatively low cost. While you're more just feeding them, you can sell for a profit and that helps. Same with 38/43/etc. Quote:
A level 40 crafted EXPERT sword (Expert Durable Adamantium Sword) requires you to make: - Crit a Durable Adamantium Sword attempt into a Noble Durable Adamantium Sword. - Crit that Noble Durable Adamantium Sword into a Worthy Noble Durable Adamantium Sword - Take the Worthy Noble Durable Adamantium Sword and combine it into an Expert, possibly critting a gold. Thats a lot of risk and time, considering that there is a 15-20% chance of a crit. You will likely have to craft about 20 Durable Adamantium Swords to get 5 Nobles. Then out of those 5 nobles, you might get a Worthy Noble. For Armorsmithing (I'm well versed here, being 449), its EASIER than Weaponsmithing, though we still use a boatload of components. Take the level 45 shield. In order to make that, I need the following: 723 Orichalcum Ore x 425 kinah = 307,275 723 Active Carbon (Refining) x 1,210 kinah = 874,830 278 Orichalcum Acid (Plates) x 2,299 kinah = 629,122 5 Expert Superb Armor Flux x 300,000 kinah = 1,500,000 6 Pure Aether x 12,000 kinah = 72,000 9 Pure Orichalcum Ore x 20,000 kinah = 180,000 Total COST per attempt: 3,563,227 Kinah It takes about 2 hours of my time to do all that refining, plates/etc. I sell my blue shields for 2.6 million (950k loss). I sell my gold shields for a whole lot more generally making up loss from blues.

| No worries on that, no item is worth blowing my entire load on at 40, I'm doing just fine with my green +1 40 sword; that and I typically am never without monitor steaks, crit scrolls and the like to help make up for it. Think I'll start paying the gf to level crafting while I'm not on, lol... |

| Did you stop making chain? I never see anything of yours on the broker anymore after your initial batch. I may be in the market for the level 43 chain chest piece - I'll send ya a pm tonight. |

I have all of the 38 Chain recipes. I don't make pre-43 stuff much anymore because I ran out of mats and refuse to pay 350k a piece for the 33 fluxes. The 38 stuff doesn't sell (Its inferior to the 33; I disenchanted more that half of the blues that I made), and I'm lacking 43 recipes. In fact most people are shocked that I don't even wear any expert armor except the 33 boots. I only wear worthy green adamantium stuff heh. I'm gonna refresh my gear at 40 though. | Really did enjoy the game, but after getting my Gladiator & Cleric into the 25+ lvl range and taking a look at the exp requirements for 30-40, I about gagged, but thought perhaps it'd be worth it. Then I saw 40-50. Had to walk away from the keyboard when I saw that as it appears that someone shit in my pants. Anyways, it's fun, sure. A grind, sure. I didn't want to have 100% lvling through questing alone (remember I'm an old EQ1 player), so grinding out mobs was a welcome change. But ultimately when I got L2 flashbacks, I said "Fuckit" and canceled. I hear they're talking about upping the quest exp & mob kill exp, but that doesn't change the fact it's still an insane grind that helps to suck the life out of most North American people's desires to play the game. |

| On a bright note, I think people are misunderstanding a huge aspect of the 1.5.1 patch notes concerning fortress defense. Preliminary patch note that everyone is flipping out reads: Quote:
As it is today, if you are in control of a legion, you still do not get medals on a successful defense unless you have earned them (And anyone can earn them that participated in the defense). This change, at least I believe, is just saying that everyone in the legion is guaranteed medals (That get mailed to the Brigade General), in addition to the medals awarded as they do today.
