After taking a look at some numbers from another forum, they did try to balance mage against scout in terms of downtime. They just failed at the equation.

They have similar numbers but the scout gives the player the feeling of being weak/inadequate due to the constant rest.

This makes people quit. So my point stands, scout should have a disclaimer.

Are you referring to just their generic 1-10 versions or later on? I did find the mage more powerful then the scout in the 1-10 game but soon as I could go assassin I felt pretty powerful. I enjoy my Assassin a shit load more then both casters I played. It is a more advanced play style to be sure but casters have always been for the skill challenged far as I am concerned. Nuke spam compared to combat chains and positional attacks. Pretty much MMO 101 stuff here.

I didn't beta. Barely even read about the game. Friend of mine asked me to give it a whirl. Got to level 6 tonight as a scout in about an hour or so of playtime. Easy and fun so far. Really good looking world. Music is amazing albeit annoying with so much ambiance and shit going on.

I like it so far =]

If you can get a green dagger and properly utilize the in-combat movement bonuses, scouts are actually pretty decent 1-10.

I've had no trouble soloing as a scout from 1-14 so far. With bandage usage, I've only had to rest a handful of times.

My first two drops were Fiendish Daggers, which helped immensely.

Are you being serious? Buy from a merchant, player, do the starting quest chain for the chest reward. You have to be kidding.

Are you playing with really low graphics settings? Because this looks pretty much like Lineage 2 did 5 years ago.

Even your negro elf hairstyle is a direct carryover.

At least there are no numbers in the names this time.

The level curve starts out pretty light. It gets a lot heavier at the 25ish+ range. That was pre-1.5 patch though it might be a lot smoother now. I have not tested it.

cap is level 50, but the XP gets raised pretty damn exponentially after a while. Took most people like 8 hours to get lvl 15 or so, but it will take you 8 hours to get from lvl 34-35 (around that). I'd reckon it's like 20-30 hours a level in the late 40s

Yeah I hit level 15 tonight pretty easily, even with a 4+ hour queue after I disconnected around 9PM. Most people in guild are 17+ if they were on all day. Gets incredibly slower to level past 20ish, though.

Aside from the fact that there was the 300,000+ zerg rush to start, even with the servers packed to the brim, it was a really clean play experience.

I figured it'd be a few days before things were playable. Retention will be an interesting thing to see.

They are trying very hard to keep the server populations balanced, which, frankly, is awesome. They aren't willing to bend to let servers get screwed up. Very proactive. This will be a huge boon much later on.

I wouldn't expect the queues to go away. Take your guild and reroll on another server that's not packed to the brim. You have options around the queue. Complaining about queues when you have options is just nitpicking, and they've shown they aren't bending in the interest of game health.

Or, like anyone with a brain, find a leveling partner. If you want to solo, there's an MMO out there where you can go from 1-80 with no one else but you and the keyboard...

It's only going to get worse as you level up. The game strongly pushes you into groups. I would imagine, for many here, that would be an appeal, considering the EverQuest roots most have.
