No, but Gameguard is pure shit and it might not run well on an emulating OS, just like it doesn't run too well with antivirus, certain vista versions and certain win7 versions. So you might need to remove gameguard for aion to run properly, which would put you in an "illegal" situation. That said, I don't think there's any way for them to detect if gameguard is on or not, so probably doesn't matter.

Where can I get a good look at the current status of each of the classes? Some friends and I are hitting the OB hard and they've decided to play Chanter and Ranger so that means I get to play a warrior. I want a more in depth look at both the Gladiator and Templar.

I'd say, if you plan on doing mostly pvp, glad would be better. If you want to pve too, templar is good. But at low level, templar is definitely an inferior pvp class. If you want to 3man elites though, you're gonna have trouble without a sorc sleeping adds and only a chanter healing with a glad tank. You could just get a pug sorc or cleric/chanter and be done with it. With the lvl30 cap, I'd say just head for the glad.

I made some basic class guides on our guild forum but I think they're in the private section, maybe can paste all of it here in spoiler tags.

I've decided to play a Cleric once the game goes live. I've played through the last four beta weekends, but I've yet to do any real reading on tradeskills, and I haven't tried any of them out in-game. This coming week, my plan is to check out the tradeskills and crafting - I certainly don't want to go into the game when it's live without any experience with crafting. You guys have any tips or advice for leveling up your professions?

You need a lot of money, and it's a boring grind. You basically level tradeskills doing work orders, which are quests which require only npc vendored items, they also randomly give you the rare plans(which also drop on mobs). You can craft good stuff though, so it's pretty nice to have, and the consumable tradeskills are also very useful. You can level all the tradeskills until 399, then you can master 2(via a quest) to get them to 450.

Can we master 2? Thought we had to pick only one, or is the universal gathering one of the two?

They added one in 1.5(which is what we launch with). Gathering and Aether gathering can be maxxed regardless.

if you had any access to any of the closed beta's, than your account will work for the open beta

So I take it preodering is the only way to get an open beta key at this point?

No, but they're easy to do.

I thought I just read it's a boring and long grind.

I don't really care how easy / hard they are as long as they are tradeskills and not some form of AA that WoW used.
