So my roommate and I are going to be playing aion, we figure its the closest thing to old school EQ we've encountered. Just wondering if anyone has any server/side plans yet. Not saying, "Can I join your guild or leveling group" just would like to see if there is a main server like Malganis was in WoW, so we don't end up in some backwoods Deliverance community

I sent you a PM anyhow, main source of this kind of info is the aion forums but no one really knows what server they are going to play on yet as they have yet to announce a offcial list.

I keep telling teljair that a full group is not the best way. Anyway ill be playing hard for there first few days but I'm missing a few hours Sunday night because of the giants game most likely.

I'll probably end up playing an enchanter purely based on the description. Ive always liked the support role classes for some unknown reason. I guess Im just a glutton for punishment.

I have stayed away from playing before the NA beta simply so I dont get burned out if I really enjoy it.

Did they ever fix that bug that was in the Chinese beta where auto-attack would randomly turn off in the middle of the fight?

I had this happen all the time on China servers. While playing the last two beta weekends I had it happen a couple of time but not near the same frequency. I think it has something to do with left or right clicking around the mob (like clicking to spin your camera).

I saw no hint of that bug, so probably.

I didn't run into any noticeable bugs at all during NA CB.

I'm going to have to give this game a whirl when it comes out, while I still enjoy warhammer I'm in love with the lore of this game. Count me in on rolling whatever server the forums decides to roll onto.

Tank/Healer. When has it ever been anything different? Templar, Cleric or Chanter. If you hate playing the support role, go Sorcerer as they have the only reliable CC in the game at the moment. All the other classes are kinda useless and are just filler.

Actually in PvE they are, once you have a tank a healer and a CC, you're pretty much set. Depending on the tank/healer numbers/gear you can also remove the CC spot. In PvP every class has its use though.

As for the autoattack bug, it's on and off with the various versions, but 1.5 supposedly has it fixed for good(it's in the patch notes somewhere).

What? All the useful debuffs a Glad provides a Templar does and a Templar is miles better a tank. All the useful debuffs a sm can do? You guessed it. Sorcerer can do as well and Sorc comes with very effective Crowd Control and doesn't have a lot of their damage tied up in a pet that's a pain in the ass.

Sins/Rangers can do some limited CC, but it's usually on either an ass cooldown (15 second AoE blind on a 10 minute cooldown? Yeah, that's useful when you're on a fresh pull every 20 seconds) or requires constantly upkeep/kiting and removes you as a dps factor on the target that matters.

So yes, even close.

In PvP you can make use of anybody. Some classes are much more useful then others, but since the majority of pvp has no limit on how many people you can bring to the fight more bodies never hurts.
