Come view brand new concept art, including the first ever Balaur imagery!

The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed the faction appear in one of our earlier videos, but this is the first time ever that one of their number have been shown in such detail. As you’ll see as soon as you visit the Concept Art section, the Balaur are a truly intimidating group, and will be a real test for any aspiring Daeva.

That’s not all though; we’ve brought in three more images showing off some of the different areas you can expect to battle through within the Abyss! This beautiful but deadly part of Atreia is where Aion’s unique PvPvE aspect will be most evident, and as such is where your skills will be most tested.

The Korean Closed Beta Test of Aion is about to continue.

In an announcement presented to company investors, NCsoft Korea announced the third phase of the Korean Aion Closed Beta Test (CBT) will start July 1st and end on July 20th.

Features available during this round of testing include Faction versus Faction combat in the Abyss, a zone where the two races battle for control of land, fortresses, resources and artifacts. Testers will also have the option of experiencing enhanced content such as item crafting, more quests, increased character level advancement and an improved user interface.

More information will be provided in the near future.

Please note: This announcement pertains to the Korean Closed Beta Test only. North American and European Beta Testing have not commenced nor has a schedule been announced.

No enforced NDA, there will be loads and loads of videos in youtube from the very first day, and many infos I'll try to be posting around here.

Even though that article was full of very very old information, I'm betting the 2009 release date is true. CB3 is going to start in July and the devs said there will be an open beta after that. Which sucks cause i really would have liked to play the game this year.

well, the game wasn't really pushed back, it's actually the first realistic-concrete/official ETA US and EU markets receive, and it's going to have a beta for us later this year.

That article on WP is quite outdated on everything, and wrong on so many things also.

By the way, since the focus during 3rd CBT is going to be the Abyss, NCsoft's artists are releasing some more concept arts about this, Aion's US website as source:

As for the things mentioned,

A US/EU closed beta will come later this year. Friends and Family test will occur prior to the closed beta.

The Korean closed beta #3 will open its doors the 1st July. I've played since closed beta 2 and the game is doing very well. With CBT 3, NCsoft will have The Abyss available, which is pretty much one of the major features of Aion. Will be great fun to test out.
