The private stores are a nice feature but expect to see lots of shit like this in release. Pretty much the entire front half of the Asmodian Capital was filled with stores.

That becomes substantially easier to deal with if you turn names off. I didn't check, however, if you were able to turn off people's billboards for selling shit though. Key feature that needs to be put in if it isn't imo.

Does idling for too long in this game log you out? And will idling for 2 straight weeks melt your card like the bazaar did to my ati 9800?

Idling will kick you off, but I think you can afk as long as you want as long as you have a private store up.

if you alt-tab your game while idling and leave the comp alone, does it still use your video card?

No, at least the fans on my video card stop once I'm alt tabbed so I assume it just goes into normal 2D mode once I'm alt tabbed, most games work that way.

There's not that many reason to have a permanent personnal shop though, just use the AH unless you have very specific items to sell(a good example are +10 items, you can't advertise them on the AH so ppl have to look specifically for them). Just make a few alts to have more AH slots, only need lvl 10 for AH access, it takes like 2hours on a mage with a few mana pots. You get 10slots per character, for a 8days duration each.

is that a real question or are you playing on the "tree falling in the woods" phrase?

BOGGLE!!! Could you explain to me please how a background process that is not updating video uses your video card in any way, shape, or form and why it would change modes?

Hardware and Software must have changed a lot since I went to bed last night.

Sadly my geekness level is too low to even understand what you're asking. What I simply said is that once you alt tab, which switch focus to another window, the load on the video card would be reduced because it's not the main process anymore, if that is actually true or not I'm unsure, but I know the fans which have preset speed depending on the application I'm using do go down when I alt tab. The way I see it, the GPU on the card doesn't have to be running at 100% when you're alt tabbed simply because it's not displaying anything, but your normal desktop setup.

Am I wrong? If I am then sorry for saying something that started with "I assume" and you felt offended by my assumption because it was wrong. And sadly, even after your reply, I still have no idea if I was wrong or not, but I'll assume I am due to the sarcastic nature of the 2nd part.

I didn't read the whole thread so sorry if it was answered allready, is there a focus at max lvl other than pvp? will there be raids or high end group content? well something that keep you playing past the free month, or is it going to be similar to lets say war with fun lvling but repetitive and boring tasks at max lvl to get your next tier of armor without really needing it... .
To resume is Aion worth playing long term if you don't give a crap about pvp?

If you absolutely don't care, probably not. I'd compare the endgame pve from the information we got to Lotro endgame, counting the 1.5 additions. It has 8 dungeons for each fortress you can control, a PvPvE instance in which you race against another team to fight the final boss(and kill the opponents), a new max level instance, the original endgame content which as far as I know is 1dungeon on each side added during 1.1 and the original raid bosses which are world bosses from the looks of it, and there aren't many of them. In terms of quantity and intended difficulty, you're looking at lotro single group type of content, with very little raiding thrown in.

Most of the "pve" looked very straightforward, mostly tank and spank with the basic "spawn adds every x secs or at 75% etc" or "warning I'm glowing, AE incoming". The fact that every class can combat rez with items and that mana never seems to be an issue even when spamming spells(unless they're AEs) clearly limits the scale of pve.

In short, if you don't care about PvP at all, this game is definitely not something you'd look into if only for the free month, and maybe 1more month due to how long it'd take to get to max lvl and stuff.

Fastest way, www.ncsoft.com preorder the digital version, they still have the CE for 59.99. This weekend we will have another beta event, closer to it I'm positive both fileplanet and the devs will distribute keys on twitter/facebook whatever.

Just ignore the twitter/facebook part of it as they handled like 20 keys total on a pool of thousand of players waiting.

If you have a gaming store around you can pick up a pre-order box for 5 bucks and it also sign you up for both the beta and the early start.

Someone mentioned a onlinestore (Online CD Key Online Gaming Home) that sells the key for like 8 bucks that's also good for both (early start/betas). I only bought a WoW BC key for a friend once from that site, they took longer than advertised to deliver. Use it as your last resort IMHO.

That's about it.

Best luck, enjoy Aion!

Thank god I'm determined to not pay for any MMO less than 3 months after release, call it WAR-AoC-sis.
