Inclined to agree, this game felt a bit brutal while I was on my Sorc, till i saw the light and rolled a SM. I can easily see them being one of the favorites for those who would rather solo, but that bit me in the ass once I hit the group quest.

Thanks Pyros. Actually, you answered one of the question I had in mind today, which is how are the Korean subs after a couple of months.

As you mentioned, maybe EQ2 and WOW have more PvE content (esp. at end game), but lately I've dropped the ball on many games after a couple of weeks (including WOW/LOTRO/EQ2) simply because the low level zones are either dead, or people prefer to solo, and, while not being the kind of "stop and smell the roses" player, I hate to burn the low level content just because "the game starts once you hit the cap".
To some extend I'm not that much into PvP, so the PvPvE element may help me get into the genre more easily, at least more easily than my last attempt under EVE (which was too brutal for my taste).

That's why I believe Aion has Potential™ since it will likely be polished (due to the Eastern early release) once it hits the Western market for a fresh launch. Also because I'm a diehard fan of Eastern graphics )

This game supports grouping for exp and soloing for exp unlike WOW's leveling process (outside instance grinding).

I linked that on Geist forums but gonna link it here too, Anyone interested in RvR? Here's a Video and my thoughts about Aion(Kor server) - General Discussion - Aion - MMORPG.com Forums

Warning: If Engrish makes you cringe and want to strangle little babies, you might want to get drunk before reading this.

This is a thread with the guy that did the video posted last page or the one before(and before too) with 6vs many pvp. It has a lot of insight of the current endgame in korea(or at least, as of few weeks ago, mostly pre 1.5). He gives his thoughts about class balance, group pvp, endgame and koreans mindset, as well as lots of other interesting stuff(and non interesting too). I especially liked the part where he said "I played cleric because I don't have enough money(irl money that is) to buy good gear like you need to if you play a melee class. My hunter friend spent 800-1500$ to gear his char". Crazy koreans.

Anyway, reading this has changed my point of view on some things(mostly class utility) so I think it's worth it if you don't know what class to play. For example he says for group pvp, Glad > Templar, and SM=best CC class because Fear is better than anything else.

Not knowing much about the Korean version but do they do micro transactions for gear ? Just curious how this guy supposedly spent so much money gearing up. Or is he buying gear through a secondary market like ebay etc. ? If so I hope that is kept out of the US release, I don't mind micro transactions so much but in a pvp game stuff like that throws ballance right out the window. I also figured the pvp gear came from vendors so maybe hes buying gold /shrug but either way that will ruin the game.

He says ebay quite a few times, I guess it's just the parallel market, they buy gold/items off ebay there, might be another service like ebay though. Anyway while this happen on US/EU servers too, it's usually to a much lower scale, like how people sometimes buy powerlvling or gold in games.

Ya thats hard to stop I was more worried about this being something set into the core of the game like buying gold from Ncsoft then gearing up via that method.

He probably spent all the money on gold to upgrade his equipment to +10 quality. Similar to people spending ass tons of money on enhance stones in Atlantica, just to have that extra edge.

Interesting read. I liked when he mentioned how Abyss Points are way more important than levels, and he spent almost the entirety of level 25-50 in the Abyss farming points. Sounds like a good way to have an edge early on and have fun at the same time (lots of opportunities for PvP).

Hype or myth, the CE edition (they announced as 50k BTW) is almost sold out:

Aion's Limited Collector's Edition selling out fast | Aion

Wonder if that also means the digital one from the Ncsoft.com online store.

The digital one can't be sold out since they don't actually send you the stuff, only a key for the CE ingame bonus I think. Also, they only sell the euro one. I've noticed like last week that Gamestop stopped selling the CE though, since I wanted to change my order to a CE. Amazon doesn't ship overseas so well I'm probably gonna just buy a key and be done with it, don't really need CDs or an ugly figurine anyway.

The figurine and CD is the only difference right? 10 bucks cheaper online as well.
