| A Bearded Gnome | I wish it was coming out sooner too, but I'm cool with it. I just wish I could find a MMO to play in the mean time. /sigh

+1 Internets | -Question guys: Can a tank+healer duo complete the group quests or a dps is required? (can this duo kill "elite" mobs?) Also is Spiritmaster+Cleric a decent duo (pve grp quests/pvp)? Wondering if 2/3 players can rock out the PVE content, this will make or break the game for me, if a couple can make stuff happen I will pre-order. Thanks A LOT btw!! |

As for the spiritmaster I don't think the pets hold aggro well enough/have the tanking ability to reliably keep you alive on elite mobs that might 2 shot you. Edit: ?Which elite mobs can be solo'd I tried on my gladiator when I hit level 30 and I couldn't kill a level 20 elite mob. They just have too much hp I guess they can be kited, but there's a lot of ranged elites mixed in that will destroy rangers/casters. Last edited by Seig; 06-24-2009 at 10:26 AM..

+39 Internets | Well if you mean dungeons and stuff, I don't know if 2 people would be enough. Mostly because you need to kill the bosses before the healers run out of mana I guess, but assuming you chain mana pot it might not be as much of an issue. If you mean elite quests and stuff like that however, you'd probably be fine with 2 people, as far as I know most of it can even be soloed depending on your class, so 2 classes, especially with one being a healer, would be np. Someone with more experience might disagree but I don't plan on running around in a full group and do expect to be able to do group quests too. As for SM/cleric, seems like a good combo, the pets can usually tank no problem if they get heals, and for pvp anything with a cleric is probably a good combo, most classes seem useful enough for pvp as long as you know how to play. Edit: about SM tanking, I've read some random joe schmuck was tanking elite lvl 25ish stuff with his pet and a cleric healing, but they also had an assassin dpsing so it might have helped, I expect the pets to be mana sponges when it comes to healing. +10 Internets | If you really want to duo PVE content go Sorc + Cleric. Multiple long duration CC spells + Cleric rootspam means you don't really have to worry about one or two 4 star elite adds as you can keep them CC'd indefinitely. Neither of you will really take consistent damage and since Sorc CC causes such tremendous threat the Cleric is free to use both his melee + ranged damage chains without having to worry about the mob randomly turning around and instagibbing you. There was not a single mission we came across that we couldn't duo once we learned the pathing of nearby mobs. The duo is a little less effective pre-20 due to lack of Polymorph: Tree (whatever it's called in English) but getting to 20 is a one day grind if you know where to go. | So I've been following this thread for the past few days, and have been getting really excited about this game. I pre-ordered and got my beta key, albiet I was too late for this most recent beta session. I've got a couple questions, though. What are the dungeons like in this game? I know you've got the different "zone choices" (ala AoC), but are the dungeons going to be open, like EQ, or instanced? Really hoping they're open for multiple parties. Additionally, I was hoping someone might be able to link me to a good website with detailed class information. Sadly the few sites I've come across don't really have a whole lot of info, or its a forum where people who already know a lot about the class are discussing it. Thanks in advance.

Gladiator - Skills - Aion No one really knows about the high-end raiding and instancing since most of it is only available on the Korean server (In the current version there's a few 1 group instances like The Temple of Fire). From the patch notes it sounds like there's 1 group instances and raid instances where the races fight each other for a boss(And of course there's non instanced outdoor raid mobs which is one of the focuses of the abyss). The only raid instances I've read about are PvPvE or the patch notes don't clarify if it's a raid instance or 1 group instance. Last edited by Seig; 06-24-2009 at 11:42 AM..

| For the cheapskates/waverers : Aion on FilePlanet Sounds like its open July2nd to the 6th, I'm not an FP subber so won't be joining in. It's probably continest and will hate us superior English types anyway ![]()

I really wanted to check out the game, not sure if my computer can handle it or not, I think it could handle it alright but I've hear so many good things about the game but have only seen a few videos and haven;t read much. The Fileplanet thing I thought would be a good chance to try it until I read at the bottom. Quote:

The only place where I'd get fps drops was in the main city where there were a million merchants on their stools and in the 25+ zone since it has such a huge scale and view no matter where you are.
