Aionsource is trash except for the media forum. Any negative opinions on the game, no matter how constructive, are flamed into oblivion.

I'm starting to wonder about this game. The Korean version looks great, but will we ever see it?

We're at a year after release. The Korean version is at 1.2 and about to be patched to 1.3. The Chinese version is still at version 1.0. The NA / EU beta weekend was version 1.0 with some "localization." I didn't see any differences between the NA beta and the Chinese version with the English language pack installed.

I don't get it. It takes them a year to release 1.0 in NA / EU, arguably markets equal in size to the Asian market, with a stronger currency compared to their home market, and the translation to English already complete.

I'm afraid we're going to be given 1.0 here in NA / EU and never see an update, just like China.

It has been mentioned many times already but the NA released version of Aion will be up to the same content as the Korean version, so it won't be 1.0.

Then why are they beta testing version 1.0 in NA / EU? It doesn't make much sense to test one version and release another.

Don't the later patches focus on higher level gameplay? May not be necessary to go past 1.0 in the first couple beta rounds since you're only going to hit L20 and not really get to test out the PvP. That'd be my guess anyways.

There is still more than 2 months for them to sort out what client they will use for release, if the final beta phase just before release is still 1.0, then we can be truly concerned with NCsoft's competence.
New beta phase starts this week around Thursday, lvl1-10 Asmodian only for those that don't know yet.

They're just showing off the the most stable client they have. And like someone posted above 1.1-1.3 is mostly higher level content besides some class balancing.

You answered your own question though there is no beta it's pointless to submit bugs since any bugs you find will already be fixed in the future patches that already exist. I think one of the dev's posted that we won't see the version we'll be playing on until the 2-3 day head start event for people who pre ordered.

I fell into that trap to many times. My favorite thing to "Wait Honey, Someone's wrong on the internet!" to is whenever everyone whines about comparing Aion to WOW like it's an offensive thing to say.

Here's the full list of upcoming dates, with the parts of the game being tested each time:

* 19th to 21st June: Closed beta, Asmodian faction, levels 1-10
* 3rd to 5th July: Closed beta, Asmodian faction, level cap increase
* 17th to 19th July: Closed beta, The Abyss (high-level player-versus-player zone)
* 14th to 16th August: Open beta, phase one
* 19th to 23rd August: Open beta, phase two

Certainly an "interesting" way to run a test cycle, similar to WAR's except they are for 2-3 days instead of at least 2-3 weeks per phase.

17th to 19th July: Closed beta, The Abyss (high-level player-versus-player zone) is going to be the one you don't want to miss. If you enjoy that beta you would buy the game I imagine.

That beta schedule looks so retarded, weekends every couple of weeks, you'd probably find more stuff from just playing everyday than having to relvl every fucking weekend the same shit even though it's getting wiped and you'll have to relvl at release. Fucking failure of a beta.

Inclined to agree, it does seem pretty annoying. I hope they toss you a lvled toon to use on the high lvl pvp weekend, otherwise thats going to be pretty dumb to relvl all over again.
