+2 Internets | Yea and I'm on Dark Crag in WAR at the moment, and there is constant ORVR as well as scenarios because they increased rewards for both. They realized this was an issue and fixed it.

+39 Internets | The tournaments get boring really fast, mostly because they're 1vs1, restrict some class skills(like Hide 2 for assassins) and flying. At this point, it's most of the time rock paper scissor, and a lot of running around waiting for all the cooldowns to refresh for scissor to try to beat rock. In those settings, Templars are way retarded for example, and they win most of the tournaments/their matches. Not that they're a bad class out of these, just saying, it's not really representative of PvP. If they made 3vs3 tournaments with the actual 3 players at the same time instead of a KoF team match type game, I guess it'd be better. |

I also consider class based games can never achieve good 1vs1 balance. In class based games basically, the least people fighting the more unbalanced it is. Some classes excel at 1vs1 while others aren't very good, and some classes are only good against specific others, and achieving a 1vs1 balance while keeping the classes different is almost impossible. This is not so much an issue in skill based games where most players have a complete toolset(understand every player can heal equally). The potions in this game do reduce the healing advantage, however it comes in other forms, especially in CC chains(knockdowns/stuns). I was just commenting on the tournament videos which I personally find rather boring however, that does not mean anything on the quality of pvp in this game. And because I dislike 1vs1, I make sure to never judge a game based on its 1vs1, which quite often lets me appreciate balance better than total retards foaming at the mouth when the class they're playing isn't the absolute alpha male dominant class. The cleric video posted a bit earlier showed very interesting stuff actually(even though it's a bit hard to tell what's going on until you have played the game yourself) and reminded me of our little AoC squad fighting outnumbered before we all quit before the end of the first month because the game ended up being an empty pile of shit anyway. I'm quite eager for the real beta to start so I can level a random char to learn about the game and find out which class I'll end up playing at release. | |

+166 Internets | Eventually when pixel based hit detection becomes feasible on MMO's we may see a switch away from rock-scissors-paper PvP. In any class based game there will still be bias but if you play TF2 long enough you can beat pretty much any class using any class. It may be more difficult in some cases then others but rarely impossible even against people of roughly the same skill level. Remove the need to dodge/aim and it mostly becomes about who has the better cooldowns. Then again, I'm not sure how well an MMO that required aiming as well when a significant portion of the MMO population has trouble dodging painfully obvious hazards to begin with. |

+39 Internets | Well looking at it, it was pretty ok, don't know if there will be good alternatives, usually there's an alkhazham version but in general that just blows, we'll see. Btw reading Aionsource forums is quite an experience. The amount of stupidity and broken english mixed together there is quite surprising. I still haven't registered a name there cause I feel if I do, I'll feel compelled to argue with these retards. |
