| Plugged In Like Neo | The 25/10 raid thing is fucking rad. I'm a lore junkie and I'm glad that I'll be able to see some of the (hopefully) awesome encounters and notable characters even without being able to do 25-man raids. And speaking of lore, I too am interested in hearing how they are making it feasible for all races to be DK's. I'm really eager to see Arthas return and see what he's been up to. To whomever who mentioned Sylvanas being a night elf - I'm pretty certain from what I've read that it was just laziness on Blizzard's part in putting in a NE model instead of a high elf. I think she looks better as a NE anyway. |

| I don't really understand the big hubub about people wanting Hero Classes in the game at all. What were Hero classes in WC3? A class with specific abilities unique to them, and a different name? (Warrior = Blademaster) Don't we call these talent specs? I mean if they made it so players class name changed after they put a certain amount of points into a talent tree, would that shut the people demanding hero classes up? |

I'm sick of being like "70 Feral Bear Druid looking for XXX group" Would be nicer to just say "YYY looking for XXX group" etc... No idea how they would do something like this due to the possibility of people who don't outright spec down one path (if there are even viable spec's which don't involve grabbing the 41 point talent from one tree). +1 Internets | A few comments: First off gear. Does anyone else think that gear is fucked right now? I mean how can gear be epic if everyone has it? I actually had someone laugh at me because I was in all blues and said my gear blew ass. A purple used to be a big deal and now everyone has them. WoW seems to be by far the most gear saturated game to date I have ever played. I remember in a game like EQ when you got a peace of gear you were like WHOAH! And you held on to it for quite a while. It feels like Blizzard is just giving you the cow for the price of the milk to retain your business. As in some posts previous they make a good point that I feel some WoW fan boys are getting hot and bothered over. If it ain't broke don't fix it. WoW's current business model (i.e. the amount and quality of new content released) is raking in the dough. From a company stand point viewing things as dollars and cents why would you change a thing? It is this kind of attitude that is making people upset. We all are paying customers and therefore expect different levels of service for our money. Some want more and others are happy. I for one am in the boat of disgust. What has been released to date at least to me has not been blizzard quality we have received in the past. Maybe I just expect more then I should. World of Warcraft is a game that caters to the masses. That is all there is too it. It is not a game for the niche crowd a la EQ or AO or UO to name a few. The game is handed to you on a silver platter. As long as you just show up and breath you are able to complete most content. The new content continues to drown the server in epic gear. Granted this may be blizzards attempt to allow more casual players to gear up and attempt some of the higher "raid" type content, but I feel like it is a half assed solution. Of course the argument can be brought up that it is their money too and why shouldn't they get to experience the new content. I guess I would say life isn't fair. Why should someone get to do something if they didn't earn it? Ruin a lot of peoples playing experience by taking out the real challenges and just giving gear to people who show up and say "Thanks for playing here you go an epic!" Maybe I am just stuck in an old world mentality where a "GAME" should be challenging and not a glorified chat room where you run around in your sparkling avatar going "LOL I ROCXZORED THAT NOOB!" The hero class thing is a joke. As some have said there is nothing heroic about it. I wish Blizzard had gone the route of hero classes being an expansion on current classes. That would allow more room for specializing in certain areas maybe at the cost of other stats or abilities. Maybe a more powerful specialized talent tree. And you could do a quest or something epic to even unlock that path. Anyway, there is going to be nothing heroic about this Death Knight. If it truly is all that Blizzard says it is and is a HERO then why should anybody play anything else? But if it is balanced and is within reason of all other classes then stop calling it a fucking hero class. Its just a class. Yes Blizzard is releasing some neat ideas in this expansion, but how long after release are we getting these ideas? I mean what did the BC expansion give us? Flying mounts... Socketable items? I can't even use my flying mount in the old world WTF? Explain the lore on that one? I know I must sound bitter and come across as an asshole, but the truth is I just expect more from my money and I am in a sense a shareholder in this company called WoW and these are just my two cents worth. |

| There really wasn't a whole lot new in the initial quests in Northrend, but to give an idea of where they're "leveling the playing field" at with the expansion, the first quest chain rewards an 84 DPS weapon on the second or third quest. Essentially you'll be getting ilevel 125 epic equivalent (or so) greens right out of the gate. |

| wow is the special olympics of MMOs, anyone can participate and everyone gets a prize. and i love it. my accounts been cancelled for a few weeks now but I'll be back when wotlk comes out, looks like totally fun shit and I can play without giving up my life. love the all-raids-are-10-mannable change, that shit is tight. sucks for funcom though, all this wotlk hype now for the next few days is gonna drown a lot of their thunder. |

http://www.fohguild.org/forums/mmorp...pointment.html The thing is the gear thing wouldn't bum me out so much if WoW had something else to offer. I just like to have a game to come home to and play as a form of release from the day. But because the gear portion is so out of whack I need to keep investing more and more time just to stay ahead and be a viable contributing player. Maybe that is why I have resigned myself to leveling all my characters to 70 and just playing with my friends. EDIT: I realized my previous comment sounds hypocritical considering the things I said in my previous posts. I forgot to mention time is the key factor not skill. I am trying to make the overall point you should have to have some competency to play the game and get things rather then just invest time and get things. I don't know if that makes sense. | Needs more fucking ice for the ice continent expansion. The laws of Velious show that you can have your one token "Verdant Jungle in an continent of ice" but not 75% habitable and 25 % ice, that shit is just rediculous. Also looks like more of the same old WoW, which there is nothing wrong with if your into that sort of thing! |
