| God, its times like this blizzard really pisses me off. For all those who don't know and or brave the mage forums Lihvera was perma banned, all posts of his deleted. Who is lhivera? He is a very prominent theory crafter and responsible for alot of the mage dps calculations (rotations, gear choices, so on and so forth). He was speculating and pretty much saying the status quo remains the same with mage talents. The mage talents are absolute garbage compared to what has been "released" thus far. I mean really 45 fucking points into frost and i get LOLZ water elemental lives 15% longer and has 15% more mana. But wait blizzard that means HE WILL STILL FUCKING RUN OUT OF MANA AND SIT USELESS for the last 10 seconds he is up now, and thats not even using the ranged nova. Or you can spend 40 pts in frost and recieve an additional 5% damage on frost bolt and zomgs 10% more slow! Complete and utter garbage. Or you could go the fire route, hey if you hit 3 or more targets with your ae the damage will go up 15%. Holy jesus fuck guys look at your buffs. Never fucking mind we capped ae damage for you though, and in all reality this is still LESS damage than from before we implemented the ae damage cap for mages. Next the god damn mage armors. In the expansion there is a "leaked" talent as fire that increases your molten armor damage by 20% holy shit 20 extra damage watch the fuck out! It also has an effect that if you absorb damage the attacker will get hit with 50% of the absorbed amount. Holy shit great right? Never fucking mind you have to you use mana shield because this is a god damn fire talent. And mana shield is the only defensive spell that would be OP if you could cast it on enemies. Its shit, so you lose 1.6k mana to deal 700 fucking damage? Sign me the fuck up blizzard! Wait it gets better, mage armor now has bundled in with all its lack luster goodness "cuts harmful over time effects on you by half". Hey this is great it really is, but jesus fuck why do we always have to lose so much to gain one good thing as the mage class. Anywho Lihvera got banned for saying all of that far more eloquently than I. I guess it really butt hurt blizzard that what ever retard that spent 5 minutes on those talents was amazingly not good enough. I mean you can call it qq if you want but compare those ass talents mages get to WotLK Information Wiki: Spells Talents Professions some of that shit for priests / warriors / warlocks. Mages get lol more of the same, here we are undoing some of the nerfs we imposed on you 6 months ago. Everyone else, HERE PLAY WITH ALL THIS GOD DAMN COOL NEW SHIT. Shadowpriests get an AE which is fucking awesome. Warriors can now whirlwind for 4 seconds and fucking move. Badass. Mages, uh fuck, i guess we can let your pet live 15% longer and shoot two more frostbolts...thats cool...right? |

| If typhoon is a real spell for druids that will be awesome in the arena if it has a quick cast.

Not saying his points are wrong though, it seems a bit fucked, even though in my opinion mages have never been really bad(or good for that matter). They've been average for years, which is better than most classes. They've also been useful for pretty much every instance since the start. I remember when warlocks had no threat control for example, or when rogues were getting raped by every boss AE in the game, or when hunters were flat out shit. I don't remember mages ever being shitty though, as long as they were speced correctly. Those talents seem to go on with the same boringness.

I see speculation threads, but none that directly reference this leaked info. I think they are cleaning house, trying to put an end to these threads, and THAT is probably why your little friend got banned.

+66 Internets | It's funny how cyclical things are. Anybody else remember the bitching about the leaked TBC talent tree's? "OMG THESE ARE SO USELESS WHO WOULD EVER FUCKING USE ANY OF THIS SHIT?" Granted, I'm all about bitching before it's too late. And there are some pretty useless talents given the alternative (endless rage anyone?). It's hard to balance the two emotions though. "It's only alpha, wait and see" vs. "Shadowfury lol, how did this ever make it out of testing it's so bad." |

Remember Dark Mending? Some Priests liked it (myself included) and some hated it. Got replaced by Vampiric Touch (a class defining ability) even though Dark Mending had some support. So stop the usual wave of Mage tears please, you have a powerful class which is the #1 preferred DPS class for groups (and always has been) and still you want more? I used to live with a mage and he whined alot too, but I still saw giant fucking crit numbers on his tear stained screen. Maybe your talents are subpar because you have awesome base abilities? You are never going to get talents as powerful as for example those a Shadow Priest gets because I get precisely THREE abilities unspecced. I need to take a pretty linear talent spec to get upto the standard of "Utility DPS", with a few points spare to share among shitty talents. Mages on the other hand get three whole talent trees to choose from to buff your wide wide range of base spells. Yes I know Priests have three talent trees also, but Priests are shit unspecced and good specced. Mages are probally decent unspecced and good specced.

| The fact that there's been nothing released for Paladins gives me two emotions (at the same time no less) -- complete terror and a raging hardon just waiting to pop out and say hi.

+66 Internets | Fairly certain the 51 point paladin talent in every tree is "Allows you to reroll as a level 55 shaman." Unless healadins get a significant AE heal and they put us more in line with the other healers for mana efficiency, they are going to be brutally destroyed with Blizzards newfound hardon for AE damage. Retadins are still 3rd rate dps and only really useful on one, maybe two fights. In fact, the biggest benefit to taking a retadin is that you get that 3rd blessing and don't waste another slot on a holy paladin. Protadins have a pretty solid foothold now though. All they really need is to make consecrate reduce the AP of anybody standing in it similar to beardemoshout and then fix the retarded "too well equipped" problem that all tanks have and we're pretty much golden. I can see future raids still using the 1 healadin (imp LoH is still pretty nice for leaning new encounters), 1 protadin, 1 retadin setup. But doubling up is a fucking waste of a raid slot unless you're hard up for healers. Last edited by Zehn - Vhex : 05-23-2008 at 11:11 AM. |

| Lhivera had one thread deleted, posted another one with more direct figures and then got forum-banned (and all posts deleted as a result). "He is a very prominent theory crafter and responsible for alot of the mage dps calculations (rotations, gear choices, so on and so forth)" is not that accurate either really. Lhiv is more a Ming than a Vontre. |

| Anyone with any common sense or has simply been paying attention to the forums knows that they're dishing out bans for people posting alpha info. It doesn't matter what they're saying. I've seen plenty of posts that were positive get deleted and the poster banned. And yeah, it's fucking alpha. Give it time. Just like in TBC there are a lot of talents that are obviously placeholders. They're not going to hold off on implementing a new talent tree into the game just because they don't have any good ideas for frost talents or whatever yet. No, they put it in with wussy placeholder talents and change things as they go. Now you could be right, this could be simply poor design. Then again, there's also a pretty damn good chance that what you're seeing now will be changed or completely replaced before the expansion hits. Fucking chill out. Paladins, especially Retribution, have been repeatedly assraped since beta and we don't even have any fucking talents in the alpha yet. You don't see me cluttering up the forums with a bunch of whining or bitching. I'm going to wait and see and will rant later on if necessary.
