I don't see any reason to not let everyone achieve everything they want to in the time they play the game. How is it ruining your gaming experience to see a "casual" wearing good gear and doing fun things?

They can't stand to see someone in near equivilant gear who hasn't proved themselves by raiding.

I'd say wasted nights of their time but as it stands "casuals" waste shit loads of time as it is in WoW in order to obtain their epicx.

What I hate is you can no longer judge a person's skill/experince level from their gear.

As was pointed out 8 pages ago it sets a downward spiral. With less incentive to maintain and put up with the challenges associated with a 25 man guild, the fear is that as fewer and fewer guilds bother putting up with it. With fewer players giving a shit, the 25 man game suffers.

I mean if that's eventually the road the game goes becuase that's what the masses want, all the more power to them. It's just at that point I'll be looking for a new game because 10 man raids are boring as fucking shit.

I understand it's not your type of game and that's that...but I like what you said about the first part.

I am assuming that there will be a gear difference between the 25 man raid and 10, just like right now(regardless of pathetic forum bitching) there is a difference between "welfare epics"(badge gear) and the raiding gear. And it is damn significant one at that.

If the masses want to raid the 10 man game I'm with you, maybe that's the way it should go. For me personally, I just like to group/raid with friends and other good people. If I have 24 of them, great, if I have 9, still great. So I am 100% happy there at least now the option in the future.

I also didn't think kara was boring as shit at all...in fact I thought it had some of the coolest events I've ever experienced in an MMO(zomg much love for the opera event). I'm at least looking forward to what they present us with in the expansion as far as the raids go. It's worth a shot.

I think eventually even the 10 man game suffers.

whether people like it or not the 25 man game gives casuals something to strive for. it pushes progression. strats trickle down that are eventually implemented in 10 man versions of things (ex. council encounters) and 25 man progression actually fuels 10 man progression.

and zehn no 10 man ive ever been on with you has EVER been boring. ever.

This stopped being true when developers actually started giving casuals something to do at max level. Most folks I know lost interest in the mystique of the raid game with the release of TBC.

I remember when Legacy of Ykesha was released along with its armor dye options. The population of EQ was split overnight, and the next day people logged on to find that half the population had become pitch black from head to toe, and the other half had become hot pink.

I went with Darkforge colours because that was the best-looking armour colour scheme ever.

The videa of DK creation is on youtube, or at least was a couple of hours ago, if anyone wants to search for it.
