Incoming 4 months of "guess the fake talent tree"?

Some of the pre-TBC ones were really well done.

I was Alliance and I didn't mind Onyxia attunement...except...

Well, that escort quest in BRD. At the time, I didn't have the benefit of someone else who had done it before, so it was pretty much trial and error for me. It went something like:

1. Clear to the guy, give him the message. Oh, whoops! It's an escort quest, and we didn't clear in that direction! He dies.

2. This time we clear the other direction. He walks down there. Wait, he's turning around! He's entering some room, what is this room? Uh-oh, we didn't clear the room! He dies.

3. This time we clear the room. He comes out of the room with some gear, great! Wait a second, now he's getting his friend! He's going into the passage in the first direction, we didn't clear that! He dies.

4. We clear the whole thing, and start the quest, and this time we're wise to it; we go up and clear the jail cells that he's going to go into before he gets there! Wait, what are these bosses coming out of them? We wipe embarassingly.

It must have been six hours until we successfully got him out of that goddamn instance.

I think I was level 60 at the time, but we did the escort quest with 4 players and didn't clear a damn thing. I never really understood what all the fuss was about there.

Considering the detention block was designed for level 50 players, I would say being 10 levels over it might have helped.

Just did the Horde quest recently on my warlock. Even at level 70 with my protadin plowing through everything still took me like 5 hours. 8/

So what, you guys would have preferred farming stupid mobs for a stupid item with a ridiculously low drop rate? I still have Vex Thal key farming flashbacks, so I'd run BRD any time instead of that.

We just think alliance who whine at all about Onyxia keys are overpriviledged cunts, that's all.

The only part of Onyxia keys that sucked was getting the stupid medal from Drakosath or w/e...before the fix (aka you didn't get enough for everyone there). Man, I can't count how many times we ran UBRS ;/ Remember the 40man UBRS runs? hehe.

Not only that, the medal was ninja-able at some point, so you'd have two random faggots go "OH SHINY" and steal your medal, leaving you with only your dick in your hand and having to run UBRS again "No we can't clear the fucking hatchery, no we don't care about your Devout Shoulders".

Compounded by the fact that in the beginning every god damned little timmy wanted their necklace with absolutely no fucking chance of even getting past the guards in order to actually see Onyxia.

God I hate little timmy.

You must have horrible memories of premade exploration.

I remember fondly the "tomorrow we go explore DN/Chardok/Beffalen/CM from nine to midnight ?"

Basically people are arguing that something like Auchindun is one dungeon..with 3 paths. Instead of 3 dungeons with 1 path each.

They've traded all that entry stuff (plowing down to the 'wing', like fungi was a 'wing' of sebilis) and just having the wing itself with the bosses garaunteed to be up. Unlike doing something like an EQ dungeon where you plowed to different spots..because there was good chances a lot of bosses wouldn't be up, and if they were, you killed them and plowed to another wing to kill them to wait for respawn. I couldn't say what method is better. Locking down a spawn, trash, down to timers. Or plowing through a dungeon, leaving, and resetting it.

They cut out immersion in a world for quicker access. So you can play the game in smaller chunks. It's hard to condemn it. I am quite liking the smaller chunks availability of it. Is it better to have a bunch of trash between you and a wing, and basically requiring everyone use potions/have invisers, or to just not have it?

Instead of doing one dungeon all night, you can split up between a bunch. (assuming the only dungeons you'll be doing is heroics outside of raids/pvp).

When they first explained how they were going to copy the winged method of SM cuz people liked it to TBC dungeons, it sounded great. Except the majority of those dungeons were spread out in level so it really hurt the continuitiy of it. People wanted a huge badass same themed dungeon like BRD but able to break it up into chunks like SM.

Remember they first said 'one dungeon with various wings', this would great. Dire maul was just that, but ramparts, slave pens, and shattered halls arent wings per say cuz SH is way above the other two and they had different themes and entrances. It didnt feel like the same 'dungeon' in different wings, it just felt like 3 different dungeons. I think they sohuld definitely go back to the dire maul style and do less dungeons, bigass epic dungeon, which players who have time cna clear it all, if no, theres a path an entrance to go to a specific series of bosses.

Also yeh screw the super boring linear creation, I don't mind linear at all, but it's done in the most boring way possible. Remember SFK? When you first encountered the sons of aragul you would run up into the rafters of a room and then over a room you just came from. And if you wanted, could jump down off them. Same with the outside wall in SFK. Same with in WC where you would be constantly going upward and could look down over areas you have been in and such. This has totally gone away with mostly, the only areas that sorta have this are bot (you can see the boss from almost the beginning) and mechannar(simply cuz the floors up top are seethrough. But seriously what happened to that sort of realistic architecture where stuff overlapped and you could see this that was up ahead or a place you already visited. It's now just a rail rider.
