WoW Community Website - What Would You Like To See?

I recently purchased a domain name, on which I'll be developing a WoW-based website in the coming weeks (No, I'm not going to plug it here, this isn't about getting traffic). I already know the direction that I'm going to go with it - a min/max website in the vein of maxdps.com, but much more dynamic and versatile. However, I'm curious as to what features the FoH community would like to see in such a site?

Currently I'm planning to do custom specs and cast sequences, as well as cover mitigation, healing, and eventually satellite dps/healing/mitigation. Basically, I'd like the site to eventually become a consolidated and better accessible EJ.

As raiders (specifically raid leaders), what would be most beneficial to you and your raids?

make sure you include druid stats in forms. many many different sites similar to what you're talking about forget to do that.

Yeah I've seen multiple sites that do what I'm going to be attempting, but none of them do it to my satisfaction. Its either way too static or completely stat based (as opposed to gear based, which seems like a hassle when one could easily import gear).

That was one thing I did notice while browsing the webs, though.

Druid forms thing for sure.

Also, one thing I'd like to see is support for non-70 characters. Would be nice for planning your character on the way up, or for BG twinks.

this max-dps shit is why WoW sucks now.. it was so much better when damage meters weren't the heart of every raid

Yes, a tool that helps me select the worst possible talents and gear would be extremely useful.

Yeah most of the features you're talking about implementing have been done already. I guess if you have the money and backing you can try to enter into an area to compete with the big dogs as it were, but unless you're offering something that's a GINORMOUS upgrade to it (ala Wowhead v Thottbot), I don't see how you'd succeed. EJ, by the way, is working on an easier to digest, much more accessible 'knowledge base' via http://elitistjerks.com/f47/

Personally, I'd like to see a much more thorough and competent view of progression. Like bosskillers, I suppose, but not quite as dick-in-the-ass queer. First level 70s, first level 80s, first boss kills listed by damn patch, first gate openings, first non-runny dog turds, comprehensive, accurate, and awesome.

Nice, I like that idea. I'll work it into the design somehow.

Summarize the EJ class discussion forums so I never have to go there again and I'll tatoo the name of your site on my forehead.

Thats essentially what I was going for. A dynamic compilation of all the theorycraft that currently exists in a neat, tidy interface.

Make sure you steal it though and never give anyone credit.

WOWDB: The next generation World of Warcraft database

Then maybe you can host a radio show with known hacks and sploiters.

People that know the difference between left and right.

Seriously though, I'd rather see things that never stuck around because people bit off more than they could chew and didn't keep it up to date. There's a crapton of websites. You should get on making 'stuff', then keeping your website stable so people can access this 'stuff'. If you can't make stuff, find someone who can and you can just keep the website up-to-date and take some credit for that.

Honestly, everything I want to see will pop up in a half-assed form and then vanish. If you're not going to be fully dedicated to this (whatever it is you plan to do) just don't do it.

I want the old e-peen rankings to work. Magelo is what made EQ fun for me. We had Wowrankings.org for a while and then it slowly stopped getting updated, the owner would check bug forums very infrequently and then eventually it went down for this "Beta" that I doubt exists. It totally crapped out leaving me at #3, not to mention it was painfully inaccurate and once you looked up i-levels you could 'cheat' for higher numbers to get a higher ranking. Maybe look into something like that, that actually works and doesn't necessarily go off of i-levels (stats, lol).

Oooooor maybe you can offer some of your time to Jutsu so things will be updated faster than two weeks.

Better yet, I'd like some old school things back.

I want a parser that I can dump anywhere I want. I don't want to use WWS, I liked things previously when we could upload them to our website or perhaps for the newbs, you can shit them out in html or php so people can post. The one on EJ Forums isn't nice enough - it is just "ok".

I'd also like another loot tracker that actually has a filter that works and not to get crazy, items you can 'ban' from making the list. I don't care that 22 people looted Netherweave Cloth. CT's was pretty nice for a while, but then it stopped working, didn't get updated or something (I forgot). That one was simple; load it in raid -> after raid you log off, parse crap, copy crap, paste crap on forums and officers then would know who looted what (which is nice in BT->Sunwell since people can get sneaky with those fancy gems). We used it for those scraps in Naxx.

Plus, not using wordpad to track loot on members would be nice.

Having that said, some way to track loot progress for guilds would be nice. To be specific, I mean for raid leaders/officers to go 'somewhere' and check who has what and how many pieces total (this is obviously more beneficial for a Loot Council Guild). We're currently flipping to this online notepad thingy to see who has how many pieces of loot. Something fancier or more organized would be helpful.

So yeah, make things that don't exist already or fix things that are broken.

I want tools, not another website I won't read because it will either flop or turn into some massive forum filled with level 40's bitching and moaning about crap they will never even see and a bunch of outdated inaccurate information...oh, and only information about Feral Druids. But websites are easier to make than tools for demanding raiders.

Thanks in advance!

PS: If anything I bitched about actually exists, is accurate, updated frequently and has been tested by someone - please give me a link.
