+5 Internets | BUT YOU CAN AFFORD LIKE BURGERZ AND LAMBORGHINIZ WITH MONIES, WHY SPEND IT ON CARDZ? Still not too interested myself, I've been through the expensive hobbies, aka Magic the Gathering and Warhammer tabletop, I think I'm done with them now that my mom isn't paying for it anymore ^^. I'd rather spend my money on various mmos, or hell, GTA4 currently, and the review from incon sure didn't sound that appealing. |

+4 Internets | The game mechanics itself are very nice, I have to admit. I mainly sold because a) as I mentioned the mess too much with values and they are greedy fucks and b) I couldnt stay in the top100 at all because of massive disconnects. That means you play a dozen games, do not lose a single one and yet you lose ranks at the end of the day because the netcode sucks balls and gives you the most weird disconnects ever. You do not only disconnect, you cannot access the website and so on for several minutes. After a while it works fine again with decent speed and so on. Guess it didnt like my ISP or so. If you do not mind spending 100+ $ (increasing with every expansion of course) on a virtual TCG and like hardcore strategy (its not played like a cardgame; its more like "the dark eye" pc game battles... like final fantasy tactics, but in good) where a single mistake can cost you a game, go for it. |

| Yeah, I had my time with MTGO, spent about 500 bucks I figure. I checked out Pox way early and then remembered what happens when you get all involved in TCG's - bye bye money, hello wife in your face. Glad to hear Pox is better than it was when I checked it out though, cause I could tell even then it was going somewhere good. The movement system and all that makes it different from other TCG's in so many good ways. My wife says count me out, though, lol. |

Still love that Magic the Gathering story about the tournament where the kid had that card where you throw at someone's deck and and any card it lands on get discarded. Well the kid in question tore up that card and threw it like confetti at his opponent's deck, removing every card he had from play. Anyone got a link to the story? It was quite funny. | No, this is retarded. Can try and justify it all you like, the people selling this are laughing at you. Stop wasting your parents money. At least trading card games have a real world community and you can socialize and trade tangible goods. This crap you are paying big bucks for a video game which has the development costs of a 20 dollar bargain bin housewife played gems clone. In a year or so when people all realize how lame this shit is they will pull the plug on the servers and it will all be gone. If you are so bland and uninspired that the best memories you can come up with for 100 bucks is a few hours of entertainment from a pay to win scam you should save that money and check yourself into a nice mental institution.

Funny MtG story: Back in 1998, I was in school at the University of Nevada, Reno. Some buddies and I were going to see the band AFI. AFI (band) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia They really weren't big back then so it was a small gathering at some hole in the wall joint. The band met and formed while living in Ukiah, California, a town one the friends that was going with us also grew up in. Now he had went to high school with the band members, so they knew each other. When we got there, the band was walking around and talking to people, and they saw my friend and started chatting up. My buddy goes "You guys still play Magic?" To which they all laughed and said yeah. They invited us into the back where they all their decks out. So we sat with them for about 30 minutes and busted some game out. Really funny geek moment, playing MtG with AFI.

And no trees died for it like they did the several THOUSAND MtG commons I sent for recycling. Pronouncing it retarded just because no RL goods changed hands is just dumb. I've spent more on rounds of cocktails that have been pissed away an hour later.

| Why can't anyone make a decent 'Tactics' style web and/or java client MMO game? I would like... never play anything else. And how do I get a promotional code to sign up for this game? Last edited by Mist : 05-05-2008 at 07:36 PM. |
