| I miss the SWG the way it was in the beginning, even at launch. Sure, there were bugs, but so many players everywhere. What SOE morphed the game into is a smelly sewer you just want to stay away from. |

| There were a lot of players because it was brand new and it was a Star Wars game. It was still a giant pile of shit even before the whole game revamp they did. Just because it sucks differently now doesn't mean it was ever a good game.

| It wasn't ever a good game, and the bugs were rampant, but there were parts of it that many liked, especially the social and economical aspects of it. It had 250k playing for quite a long time, of course that was that void year when there was really nothing out.

SWG gets a lot of shit, but the crafting system, economy, and level design of the planets were incredible. I miss that game a lot. Last edited by newerakb : 04-27-2008 at 09:40 AM.

+3 Internets | If they would have had the bugs cleared, with the same systems pre NGE, with solid and balanced PvE content (Not getting Doc buffs and being able to walk into 40 mobs and take them all without losing any health), added a solid PvP component with reasons to fight a war and mix it in with the storyline, it would have been a hell of a lot better. I never liked crafting, but SWG made that even fun with experimentations, running factories, surveying, and planting resource machines. Unfortunately I have no clue who thought of some of the shit that was being implemented. I still don't know if LA was behind the NGE, or SoE was. I hear mixed comments from both sides. Edit: Whoever thought that star wars needed to be more exciting by adding "Pew Pew" effects to the game play with random mouse clicking at mach 3, should never touch or play another video game again.

SWG had crafting licked. I ran an account for 6 months and never killed a bloody thing (not that there was shit to kill but I digress). Setting yourself up as a crafter and getting a rep was absorbing stuff. Offline resource gathering is something all games should have. Stat.

| Yeah, I loved how it handled gathering resources. Hunting down that specific type of material, finding the best spot for your harvs... good shit.

i disagreed with all three because i was a bounty hunter, not because i hate interacting with other people, but it would have made things so damn frustrating in the end.

| The time between the first wave of village graduates and the first combat upgrade was an interesting one. There were quite a few new jedi running around, so the bounty hunters had alot to do. New Jedi were severely outclassed and easy targets. Eventually there were tons of bounty hunters as well. I was one of the first to finish the village stuff, but I kept a really low profile, and only got hunted once before the combat upgrade hit, and I was able to escape. Post combat upgrade there was alot of grouping going on, as things became slower and tougher to solo. I can't remember why, maybe the bounty thing was removed, but I never had a hunter come after me after that, despite doing alot of pbae groups. |
