tch, this is the one thing I miss about EQ1. People spoil everything the instant it's out and it's rather hard to avoid seeing strategies... not to mention all the mods which make encounters jokes-

Well if it was pre-nerf, horde made a significant difference. The poison cleanse totem made a huge deal because even with maraudon gear, it was a fuckload of healing/cleansing.

Post nerf was irrelevant what side but I asked anyway. Huhuran was a major difference with the nerf. Significantly easier for alliance, slightly easier for horde.

Oh no i agree, I just think I'm bitter that the key strat for Huhuran was to farm maraudon :P

Dear future Shaman,

I saw this on WoW general today and I couldn't help but post it here as a guide to all future Shaman on what NOT to do...

Well in all fairness, a good percentage of EQ's strats were "shove the mob into a corner and find the right CH delay.

Yes, I know there were exceptions, especially in PoP. Yes I know that EQ apparently has extremely in depth raid encounters now. But the average WoW raid encounter is much more complex than anything we saw in vanilla, RoK, SoV or even Luclin.

Who cares? The average computer now is faster than anything we saw 6 years ago too.

Stupid comparison.

The only sadness I have about S4...is I'm getting sick of my shoulders. And there is no upgrade besides hitting 1950 rating. I'm not good enough, nor do I really care to be good enough. It's just too much micromanaging to be..fun. The only pve dps upgrades are BT/sunwell and I don't raid. Leaving me with these shoulders until wotlk =/ I'm a warrior btw.

I don't miss the ignorance as much as I miss the oppurtunity to put my mind to the puzzle. That's part of the raid game, and spoilers ruin it for everyone but those on the frontier. I realize it's an opt-in spoiler, but basically everyone opts in and even leading the raid you can't escape it because then every little fanboy who read how it was done will be insisting you do it THIS way since THIS way worked for THOSE guys.

I basically don't raid unless I'm on the frontier to escape this bullshit. Obviously not "world first" but generally "server first". I have more fun figuring out the encounter than following the how-to checklist and collecting loot.

Unfortunately I can't figure out how to cure the spoiler disease either. Would you flag random elements on raid ID? Would these be per mob? per zone? It could get really complex and more trouble than it's worth. Then people would contest their kill was harder due to random element X. I don't really care about that aspect, but it did burn in my soul a little that a troop of idiots got Gruul down before my guild because he stopped exploding after growth 4. Not a random element that made me happy at all.

I think spoilers are here to stay for a good long time, but my solution currently works as you can avoid them just by being worth a damn and getting in a decent guild.

Ignore him. If he persists, kick the little cunt out of the guild.

But I bet you'd end up with a guild of one man and his army of alts.

The thing that bothers me is that I got my S2 shoulders back in, you know, S2, and now the afk'ing, worthless fucking trash that infests BG's with their "I'm just here to have fun, settle down" bullshit gets to wear S2 shoulders too. I think that's way fucking out of line. S1 is FINE for a starter set, no matter what the season is. There is no reason to start handing out better gear than that for people who can't even be bothered to defend a fucking tower for 4 minutes when people who DO play and DO try to compete in the arena aren't given anything better unless they're in the top 10% of teams. That's what's fucking annoying.

You wanna stop me from wearing S3 and S4 shoulders because I'm not good enough? Fine. But I sure as FUCK don't deserve to be wearing the same gear as Johnny Fucking Headshot up there who doesn't give half a shit about team work, or winning, or fuck, even actually giving a shit. They shouldda left S1 on the BG vendors and said "Here ya go. You want better? Raid, or Arena. Quit fucking losing your way to gear."

How is S2 a mark of anything? you could lose 10 games of 5 vs 5 and get them.

If you don't have season 3 shoulders you are a horrible player or don't care about arena.

edit:
or a rogue since for rogues arena gear is shit.

LMAO @ somebody thinking getting S2 shoulders is a big accomplishment. You could lose your way to them in season 2. Someday you'll realize the arena is as much of a joke as BG/Honor shit.

I'd like to point out that in my battlegroup (stormstrike) there are 31 2v2 teams, 19 3v3 teams and 2 5v5 teams capable of buying the S3 shoulders. Of those teams, multiple ones do not have players with a high enough personal rating to buy them. Of course there are also filler teams up there with no "real" players on the team from rerolls. I'm also not going to dig through and find out how many players are over 1950 in multiple brackets.

But I'll still be generous and give every team their players. That is 129 players across the entire battlegroup that can buy their S3 shoulders. I've been over 2k in every bracket and I wouldn't call people under 1950 "horrible players." It just means they aren't bff with a resto druid.

You are aware that ratings reset just a couple weeks ago right? If you didn't get your s3 shoulders during s3 you are bad (like me) or didn't try very hard.
