Yes the arena system does have its flaws, mainly win trading in the high end, but resettable personal rating is not one of them.

| I think there must be a lot of confusion on here how point selling works...You are not meeting point selling teams in any bracket. People win trade those teams to sell points, effectively taking those high rated teams OUT of competition. (further screwing up the ladder system) The leet full s3 teams you meet now are merely taking a new team to 2k to sell off to yet another win trading team. Permanent personal rating with no repercussions will not fix anything, in fact with the changes going in it would probably just break everything further. Get a 2k rated team, change to a 1500 rated team, tank personal rating to the dumper, go back to the 2k rated team and proceed to get low ranked teams due to low average personal rating. Team rating goes up (if slowly) Putting rating requirements on all items is possibly the worst idea I've ever seen. It is very true that doing this will either force ALL scrub players to rating buy or they'll simply leave the system, INCLUDING the battlegrounds now. What Blizzard REALLY needs to do is get off their lazy asses and put a simple script on their arena armory. Win trading teams are stupidly easy to spot. Gee, they played only 10 games this week, won 5 and lost 5, and 8 of the players have about 1550 rating. HMMMMMM, I WONDER WHATS GOING ON HERE. Ban the win trading teams, open those spots back up for competition and MOST of the problem is solved. Last edited by Daezuel : 04-22-2008 at 03:59 PM. |

And Daezuel, perm PR causing 2200+ people to tank their PR accomplishes one VERY important thing. It feeds points back to the 1500 to 1950 rated teams that will otherwise NEVER get those points back or even have the chance of getting those points back.

| Alert to morans who did not read. Selling team rating will be hard, since it is based off of your AVERAGE personal rating. So unless you are on no teams, when you queue - if your 2's and 5's are both 2200+ and your 3's is 1500 - guess what? You're que'ing at like 1850+ rating teams with a scrub - which can be a loss quite easily even at such a low bracket number. |

Then those win traders trying to up rating for someone basically ONLY has them enter the arena when they are up for a win...meaning they never lose to a 2100ish team. I promise you this system WILL be exploited.

+2 Internets | Another problem with required rating on items is significant differences between battlegroups. I have the dubious pleasure of being on the "best" EU battlegroup (EU-cyclone) which means that at 1500 rating you face full s3 teams, as well as a large number of point sellers. Reading arenajunkies and seeing people in s1 & blues get to 1800+ on other battlegroups is mildly annoying to say the least. Arena matchups should be based on the highest personal rating any one player on the team has. If you're on a 2200 5v5 you do not under any circumstances belong in the 1500 3v3 bracket. And if you'll pardon my whine, I really don't like where WoW is going. Arena gear is so good it has killed my interest in raiding (yea I raid for loot but what else is there in wow); it's now a requirement to play arena if you don't want to be wtfpwned in battlegrounds, and skill is now measured in running around pillars and making fotm teams and counter-fotm teams. Where's the depth, the strategy? It's like fucking Hogger being the pinnacle of raiding.

| This is straight up wrong because of how some classes vary wildly in effectiveness across different brackets. Mages, shamans, and paladins all fit into various top tier 5v5 lineups just fine, but then look at their representation in 2v2. It stinks, for a reason. You can't just throw them into a similarly rated 2v2 match based off their 5v5. It wouldn't work. |

Nowhere does it state it will average your PR across brackets. It will average the players PLAYING THE MATCH.

| What is the point of the original battleground system after these changes other than a grind on the side of the arena grind just so you can get a 1-2% upgrade in a few slots? Most people never see 1600 rating, so their need to enter battlegrounds AND the arena will drop as well. Once Little Timmy gets his few items there is zero incentive for him to queue up for a couple of months. I think these changes stink overall for the game; the arena once again trumps real pvp.

+66 Internets | Personally I'd make it so that Your personal rating can't go down and doesn't reset until end of season. Personal rating determines what you can buy and what teams you'll face. Highest personal rating on the team determines matches. Team rating is reset every week and determines how many points you get. Teams are locked once you play a game that week. You have to play 50% of games to get points. I think it would be effective to say the least. |

| Yeah for the average non-arena BG player this is going to blow. Not only is there less shit to get but more of your opponents are going to come in with S3/S4 shit while you are sporting greens/blues/S1. Well, I guess it won't change much if you are used to getting fudgepacked on your way to one token.
