[edit] and team rating cant be dependent on personal rating if they use this idea. if they lose with their 1850 weapons, they lose based on team rating. Last edited by cuervos : 04-22-2008 at 02:10 PM.

| You're not getting it. If it represents the top 10% of the bracket now, and the other 90% stop playing, it will represent the top 1% of the ladder next season. Granted it won't be that drastic in actuality, but it'll still be a fairly sharp decline in the number of available points. |

After further questioning, they informed me that the vast majority of them only reach their precious epeen rating by questionable means -- win trading, playing at odd hours, etc. Can only play arena when the sun is up? Well shit, son, you're just not 2200 material. The real PvPers only come out at night and play against their buddies. In short, if you think your fucking rating means you're awesome, you're a fucking cockholster. If you're constantly calling people fucking scrubs because you're so much better than they are, there's a pretty fucking good chance you didn't earn the right to anyway. Rating doesn't mean SHIT and anyone with half a brain can realize that. If your rating system is flawed and exploitable, then your rating doesn't mean anything.

| Put me in the critical failure column. Arena ratings for season 4 items (even the honor point items) - fine, although the weapon and shoulder ratings are too high (especially once the shlubs drop). Arena ratings for season 3 items - epic fail. Now goons are 2 seasons behind on weapons and pose practically no risk for the S4 people. No goons bother logging in post day one (to buy the ratingless items) and the rating requirements collapse. Moral of the story: Keep the current season tiered (by rating) to distinguish skill (or class imbalance). Keep the previous season untiered to promote goons logging in to keep the rating ladder intact. The end. |

All semantics though, my paladin pvp alt has his 5,000 banked for next season, so I'm not setting foot in arenas till then.

I mean seriously, you bust your ass, play a lot, got a good team, got some great gear, get to 2k rating, and then see that fucking asshole above walking around with a Bonegrinder and fucking greens and that doesn't piss you off? I know your enjoyment of the game shouldn't hinge on what other people are doing, but in a competitive system, you just can't have that if you want to maintain integrity.

| Ratings on the weapons I thought was fairly logical because they were the items most likely to distort PvE. Arena requirements on offset items bought with honor? Go fuck yourself. Seriously. It is perfectly A fucking OK to do Kara once per week for your 22 badges, do the dailies with possible badge rewards, and hit the easier daily heroics and run out and buy T6 PvE shit but S4? Fuck that, you better man up to 1700 if you want to buy yourself some fucking boots.

When we run into similar geared people we win. Right now the arena system is a fucking joke and these changes do nothing to address the real root of the problem. PR has to be made perm.

| These changes won't hold. The numbers don't lie. When subs start to fall changes will be made. The system is made better with the more people that play. Making changes that will affect people negatively will make people play less. The system crumbles. They do understand that making shit harder in wow never has a good affect right? |

Edit: For example, If a team rerolls in 2v2 and have a rating of 1500, they shouldn't be able to equip those items until that 2v2 hits the rating prerequisite. They could still equip those items in their 3v3 and 5v5, though, if their PR in that was high enough. Last edited by tikkus : 04-22-2008 at 02:44 PM.
