The Arena is going to suck for a good chunk of the player base until the first season on the new expansion.

Again though -

1. Arena requirements on honor bought items is stupid.

2. Look at what can be bought with badges.

PvP welfare epics? Those days are over. If you want some welfare epics do your weekly Kara and some dailies and you'll be pimped out at a faster rate than a mediocre Arena team fo sho.

I feel sorry for any unfortunate enough to play Season 4 arena. Just what was needed for the "E-Sport" to keep the player base as unbalanced as possible. The problem is everything is already looking at this going. You can exploit it this way? Here's an idea to stop the exploiting this way? Team selling, point buying, mass gayness blah blah blah.

Sad thing is Blizzard has to be the one to take a stand on this type of shit. Until they start banning these rimjobs from pulling this kind of shit the system will be worthless for any legitimate person to bother with. The game was good at the start, now they are in sit back in collect money mode. They have done this with every game they have ever made. Start off strong then sit back while more and more exploits and dishonest gameplay are added. Only this time your paying $15.00 for it and they have no competition. Welcome to the new SoE.

Because Blizzard attempting to find stop-gap fixes to a competitive ladder system is as bad as major system mechanics not working, right?

2. Look at what can be bought with badges.

You can't compare badge rewards, guess why? Badge gear is the same Ilvl as fucking s3 gear (which only has req's on two pieces), so the only badge gear that is "free" in comparison to s3 gear are the weapons (since, you know, there are no shoulders).

Most of the s4 rating requirements (Chest, Boots, Belt, Legs, Gloves, Rings, Neck) can be gotten, fairly easily, with even blue geared players that have "half way" decent team coordination in 3v3 or 5v5. My paladin, in his fucking blue PvP set, with a bunch of blue/green alts is over 1600 in his first week in arena, its not fucking hard, at all, those requirements, except for the weapons and shoulders, are god damn T-ball league reqs.

OH NOES, I need to display the skill of a partially retarded 6 year old to get the best epics in the game, zomg! And if I can't, I will only be able to get the second best epics in the game!

I really wish blizzard would get a clue. You want a rating on shoulders and weapons fine. Little timmy who gets curbstomped by S3 teams at 1500 and does his 10 loses then resets his rating is not going to play arena anymore when everything has a rating he will never hit. He's also not going to play BG if honor items have a rating. I know a crazy idea would be to have sets purchasable with honor and tokens and sets purchasable with only arena points instead of mish-mash crossover crap. Heck if Blizz is gonna do that they might as well make Drek and Vandar drop badges of justice roflcopter.

A lot of people underestimate the amount of welfare scrub cannon fodder little timmy's. I predict heroics will be run a lot more since badges will be the new welfare epics.

I basically see no fucking point playing untill the expansion. All my dudes are about as far as they will go gearwise with my playstyle and time. And fuck grinding bullshit anymore when it will all be reset in what, 6 months? A year untill the expansion hits?

Time to cancel and wait for some new content (expansion) because doing the same shit over and over for +10 stat points per item is getting tired.

Please, I was tanking Inny in hate and PKing on siege (Thats UO, 05er) before you ever jumped on an MMO son. I never signed up for these boards because, until recently, self entitled e-stars like you crawled through them and made them your soap box with your incessant whining about everything that doesn't go exactly your way.

Smurf teams are not the "norm" in the low brackets, they are a fucking annoying aberration that you might fight 20% of the time, on a bad day..Play at prime time, don't play at off hours and don't reque instantly when you get one..Its certainly not epidemic enough of a problem to justify 154 epics going out to key board turning assholes who couldn't deal damage to anything moving.

The same one with the 3v3 and 2v2 SK tourney winners? Sorry, it really isn't hard to break 1800 on even the most competitive battle group...You might have difficulty on 9 chugging above 1800 without full s2/free s3, sure, but 1700? No, please..Most of the 15-17 bracket is 1.) keyboard turners/clickers 2.) Raiders or alts saving points 3.) Smurfs (The smallest %). Aside from the third group, a player who is even mildly competitive should easily beat the rest and climb above 1700.

I dunno about S4, but S3 is only excellent for PvE if you're a melee DPS class. S3 healing gear is worse than Kara shit, and S3 caster gear has almost no spell hit and a lot of useless PvE stats beyond resil like spell penetration on it.
