I seem to recall something about a bubble they could put on the enemy that reduces healing to 0 and makes all healing done reflect back as damage heh.

I don't know if that idea was just tossed around by players or if its real though. If its real that will be fucking awesome

a large problem always in an MMO is how a mediocore group of players do compared to how very good players do. Cyclone is fine in the hands of a mediocore set of players, the druid will forget to do it a lot, will usually be out of range, will rarely root, and so on. But a good druid will absolutely rape with the same set of abilities. Likewise, a mediocore paladin will do great with most other classes up to 1800, its only after that that even the best paladins have a hard time because their abilities are meh compared to other healers. No idea what the solution is, but I hate when certain abilities/etc get buffed or nerfed based on extreme conditions.

It would be nice if certain abilities are only available with certain gear/brackets/etc - so for example cyclone is usable as long as you are in s3 or lower gear, but if you are wearing any s4 its no longer usable (while in arenas only of course). Sounds dumb and probably unworkable but some sort of "handicap" system where bad players get buffs and good players get slight "nerfs"...
Quoting this so you can't delete it 5 minutes from now when you realize how fucking stupid of an idea this is.

Buff bad players and nerf people that aren't retarded. That's what you just posted.

The history of wow is replete with buffs to shitty players (welfare epics... badge gear... vindicators... blue honor pvp gear...chance of a badge from solo quests...BOE vortex/nethers... epic gems for badges...) and constant nerfs to "good" players -- making it totally obvious is the next step.

It always amazes me that people think WoW is somehow a game about skill - its really a balancing act so the mediocore players feel they are always making progress, without totally pissing off the really good players or the really bad players. And yeah, I'm one of the mediocore, highest I got in arena in s3 was 1900 with my MS warr before I quit game until expansion. I guarantee that Blizzard will roll back the s4 requirements after a few months, when a ton of players stop doing arena because there is nothing new to equip.

Obviously if wearing s3 gear + abilities is preferable to wearing s4 - abilities then s4 needs buffs or abilities need nerfs, just like all the ZG haste trinkets are getting nerfed next patch so people stop wearing them in preference to TBC trinkets.

Healers are impossible to kill? You guys are retarded or are badly geared. I PvP as a mage, hunter, and a 69 rogue. (and resto druid) The only prayer a healer has to stay alive against my DPS classes is by LoSing like crazy. But as far as I'm concerned, thats the bullshit of the arena map geometries, not healer survivability.

Sunder is right. You can't just nerf healing. Heals have to do significantly more points per second than damage, otherwise you'd always be better off with another DPS class in his place. Damage is useful 100% of the time. Healing is not, because it's worthless when there is nobody to heal.

As gear gets better, it gets easier to kill healers anyway because player mitigation is more or less staying static because resilience is not going up much. (even if it did, it has a soft cap)

Not to mention the fact that blizzard gives us abilities to *gasp* interrupt or outright prevent spell casting. And THREE dps classes have MS abilities. If you're a 2 dps team, then learn to coordinate your CC/interrupts. Healing is fine.

A bold statement given we know kinda how much time an Arena season is likely to take.

any well equipped warrior or rogue has no problem killing any non-druid healer (NDH).

any serious discussion of healing in wow pvp MUST be in terms of DH and NDH.

Why isn't a "counter-MS" an option? I might be overlooking something but something along the lines of simply being able to dispell it or a counter-buff for +50% heals on the same CD's...I don't pvp a ton but like the last guy said, a good warrior/rogue can own my face as a disc priest pretty easy.

Hi2u

Being on the same cool down would be retarded, between that and Freedom you would be more OP if you had other ways to get away.

Because you know, there are a ton of fucking priest/pal/dps teams in 3v3, or priest/pal teams in 2v2

And Blizzard has stated that balance will be based on 5v5. Obviously they're not sticking to that 100%, but it's always their fallback, and is relevant in this case.

I have a real love-hate relationship with this game due to the things you discuss above. The constant nerf-buff cycle is just extremely irritating sometimes. The game is also becoming too Arena centric for my taste.

My guild finally killed Illidan about 2 months ago, so we have always been way behind anyway, but I've got to say I enjoyed the game a lot more pre-TBC.

Seriously considering letting my sub lapse at the end of this month. Maybe I will resub when WotLK come out idk at this point.

Just reroll. Between mob tagging, point selling, badge loot and the stupid amount of gold you can make doing dailies... you're looking at maybe 2 months. Less if you go hard at it.
