I've never understood this argument. OMG the AI is easy scripted is for the lose. PvP is so exciting you never know what they are going to do. Then you queue up for the arena and it's the same damn thing every time. You already have a strat in mind the second you see who you are fighting and do preform that strat no differently than you would in a PvE encounter.

Only difference is from time to time you come up against someone retarded and wafflestomp them, I guess that part is different.

Well that's been my and other's main complaint. Blizzards' inability to generate more random map variants in the BGs.

Actually that's why I prefer world PvP or even BGs to Arena. I consider WoW's Arena to be a bad knockoff of the feature in Guild Wars (which benefited from having the equivalent of free respecs every time you were in town). I did say "in a large scale environment". That's why I enjoyed old AV, world PvP (before it died off) and games like DAOC. There's exactly one reason that arena is popular, and it's the same reason that raiding once was; the gear. Take that away, and all you have is a glorified group duel which exposes WoW's crappy class balance.

When you get to high end arena play everything mays well be scripted. When it comes to arena there is one right way to do things. Rest is just a battle of less mistakes and RNG.

When it comes to PVE it's the same thing, script is still there. It's just people following it and screwing it up.

I know I wont bother with arena next season. Ill have mostly S2 and S3 for all my alts by then. My friends arnt that good at arena, and it causes to many hard feelings to tell them I want to find another team, so instead of hovering in the 1500-1600 range, im just not going to play.

Oh also about 30% of our 10 matches a week are against fully S3'd teams.

The queue system should take the sum of the ilvl of the gear on your team and use it to find matches.

Too fucking bad. Let only the hardcore and people who think they are good enough fight it out and see who wins. Arena should be about wanting to WIN and not just doing your 10 games a week for free epics. People will still queue up because not everyone is running around in S3. In fact not everyone is even in S2. Most people I see running around the BGs are in S1 shit because its bought with honor.

I don't doubt plenty of people will stop doing arena because of the change but that is mainly just people like you. People that got way to use to a system that rewarded shitty playing and laziness. Rewarding failure is NEVER a good thing and only keeps the cycle of laziness going. When raiding you don't get a chest after 20 wipes with some epics in it for a good effort. If you don't win you don't get rewarded. As it should be.

The bottom line is simply this. If you really want S4 gear, then put together a solid team and fight for it. If that is too much work then you must not want it that bad.

I welcome it. Believe it or not fighting teams who just /sit and wait to be killed is not fun and it never was. I have grown tired of tards who only do arena for free shit. If my team can't get passed 1700 then I guess we suck. Oh well.

As an observation:

If people believe that players won't stop queuing, wouldn't the alliance near-boycott of AV for several months tend to disprove that belief? If people don't see an incentive to play, then they simply won't play.

It's neither a fancy, nor new concept.

The only thing you can argue is whether or not enough people are willing to queue for minor upgrades, and more difficult competition with other arena players, often ones with better gear and superior specs/classes.

Me, personally? I don't see nearly as many people willing to queue with these changes. I think the arena rating on honor-bought is poorly thought out, and an attempt to get less-serious players to queue because Blizzard knows that fewer people will arena when the rest of the changes hit.

I also still think that it's a strange idea to give the best players the best gear, and expect people new to the system to want to get destroyed for months just to even try to compete. But that might just be me - though it is backed up by the arena realm featuring fully geared characters for tournaments rather than copied characters.

Seriously go fuck yourself. The arena's in their current format are still real competition you just have to get through the hordes of fucktards who don't even bother trying. This will only improve by taking the freebies away from people such as yourself. So... maybe your bitter ass needs to find a new fucking game?

Are you really this stupid, or just trolling? Competition my ass, when druids are running around taking a warrior in greens/honor gear to 2k. Hell as a druid myself during s2 i made it to 1950 with 0 fucking resillence, hit over 2k when i got some gear....clearly i was just better then everyone else, surely it wasnt because i was a druid. Hell warriors could reverse it and get healers up high as well.

The arena is not competitive, its did you roll the right class and its been evident for quite some time and you are either to stupid to realize or actually have one of the classes that are over powered and some how think you are actually good.
