I don't understand why shoulders are the high rated item blizzard choose.

Yes, they are giant and noticeable but that also means if you don't have 2200 rating you are gonna be stuck with some HORRIBLE ugly looking gear due to the color pallets from s2->s4 items.

I've gotten 2k before, 2200 is a bit much.

As for honor who cares, 1700 is nothing.

Ok, Horde on Stormstrike. How much did Alterac Valley suck at the height of the Alliance boycott? Alot, right? Kruegen even made a thread just about that.

Well, that was a silly BG that people avoided over something as simple as honor per hour. These changes are going to have a greater impact and the system that benefited from people going out and failing for two pieces of gear a season.

We want those people playing.

The point is that nobody joined AV because it was worse than the other options. When they all suck equally, casuals will choose roughly the same ones they do now.

To be frank I will probably just stop bothering with the arena, as quite a few friends I know will as well. We usually play whatever our characters are and usually get creamed by better "composed" teams. Kind of pointless now since we probably never will even hit 1600.

You can lose arena games to get legs so that you can .. lose more games? What's the point? Those legs are probably not going to be any significantly better than t5 equivalent for pve and if you're sucking that much in pvp, 1 new item won't change a thing except make you feel better / happier. My rogue is almost entirely badge equipped (neck, cloak, chest, bracer, waist, legs, ring, mh, oh, and soon to be xbow) and even though that's a shit load of kara runs, I can also be top damage on our tk/mh raids with hardly any actual t5 loot and 0 t6 loot. That's the difference.

Whether or not it's easy is irrelevant. Statistically, only ~10-15% of the population will be able to get 1700 personal rating and all but 5 pvp items require that or higher. In other words, it doesn't matter how good the average player is, or how great YOU are .. 80-90% of the playerbase gets practically nothing from S4 BY DEFAULT. That is a glaring fucking issue sport.

Assuming an actual zero sum, approximately 50% are below 1500. In reality it's probably around 45%. The difference between 1500 and 1700 may not be alot in terms of player skill or gear or w/e but in terms of an ELO system it's huge. It may not be 90, but it's damn sure at least 80.

By definition, 50% or more are always going to be below 1500. If you actually look at the ladders, you see 70% or more are below 1600.

Before you say: "Wow, I can't believe there are so many newbs that can't break 1700" realize that basic math dictates that even if everyone played flawlessly, at least 50% would always be below 1500.
