| At the risk of sounding like a broken record I have to say Bard for EQ1. I played one for around 4-5 years and still miss it. Not many classes that could chain pull, slow, mezz multiple mobs, and strengthen the group all at once. I had a few problems though. One was when the puller is out of range of the group, normally due to slow respawn or sparse mobs, the mob dies and no one receives exp. Second was the introduction of /melody. While it made playing the bard easier on the skilled players... it made it easy for retards to lvl a bard up and then park the character to the side with 1 point in Mastery of the Past and /melody running. Theres others but I don't really remember them all now. I quit shortly after The Serpent Spine came out. Still have a link of the gear back then. I really have no clue where its gone from there, but I've heard the itemization went straight to hell. Items with 1000hps?? Crazy. http://eq.magelo.com/profile/1302392 I fucking miss Selo's. |

+2 Internets | 1. Brute - City of Villains (especially a set like Super Strength that has lots of knockdowns). The difference is player vs. enemy strength in the City of X games. You really feel mighty. As a brute you run into a group of 5 enemies, knock them all down, repeatedly knock one down until he's dead, then turn to his friend and one shot him with a high-fury knockout blow, and so on. More games need more to separate classes than dps charts. The variety of knockdowns, knockbacks, stuns, debuffs, and so on in the City of X games adds a lot. 2. Creature Handler - Star Wars Galaxy You'd find baby monsters ("Don't bite me") and then have them grow to 30 foot tall. Having 2 or 3 large pets wrecking havoc was awesome. I like pet classes that get more than one pet (like the Mastermind in CoV); it becomes managing a team. Plus I had skill points left over to put into other jobs too, so it was always Creature Handler/Pistoleer or Creature Handler/Bounty Hunter. I think this class got cut in NGE though. 3. Shaman - Everquest Main reason: Turgur's Insects. I remember going to Karnor's Castle early in Kunark. I used the level 51 slow for the first time on a Drolvarg and he stopped swinging, slowly looked one way, looked the other, then continued swinging. Now that's a slow! I like seeing the impact of debuffs without having to parse the combat logs. I'd rather have one powerful debuff than 15 weak debuffs (a la EQ2). |
