| Server crashing is fixed. The population problem is still present since I'm the only rogue LFG all morning for the past 4 hours and still have found no group. Though that seems pretty common until around 4pm when I can get a group easily. It seems most of the EQ population only really plays during the late afternoon / evenings.

| I'll join and get an Enchanter leveled up nice and speedy, but only if I get to be "Official Guild Asshole" and constantly mean to any kiddies in the guild - especially the "u"-speaking, retarded ones. |

| I'm leveling up a Wizard at the moment -- level 42 right now -- and assuming the leveling process stays as entertaining / consistent as it is now I should make it to max level no problem. Name is Dregolis; I'll make sure to ping you guys if I do actually make it to 80, because I don't want to make any promises just yet (I'm sure you've had plenty of people join you while leveling only to flake out because they felt it was the "same old eq" or some such). That said, if anyone wants to get a group going anywhere in the low-to-mid 40s, let me know; while soloing is fairly quick exp for me, I do miss the group leveling aspect of EQ. |

| So, I haven't played EQ in like four years (other than a Wizard to 50-ish on that Progression server disaster a while back). Is anybody bored enough to gimme a bullet list of what's changed? Based upon my old experiences, I'd assume soloing an enchanter 1-75 would take me about 3.47 years. Have things changed that much? And, clearly, I'd have to toss all of my gaming principles, ethics, and morals in the toilet and buy some plat someplace. This would be a MMO gaming first for me, so pray tell how the evil, cheating bastards go about doing this. EDIT: I read the posts on leveling up on the wakeofdawn forums. I see much has changed! This might be interesting to actually try out. WoW is way past boring, and I'm probably not going to play AoC for a few months, until the melee/Ranger classes are all nerfed and my healer class isn't insta-gibbed in PvP. | Simple basics of what makes EQ different now: - Hot Zones. Easily the biggest thing. Hot Zones are simply zones of a specific level range where EXP is increased dramatically. This results in funneling pretty much everyone of that level range into one zone so it may actually be possible to get a group. In practice, most of the lower level zones are still barren, but it does give you a focused leveling path if you choose to use them. - As for 1-75 taking years, not at all. If you tried to solo all the way I'm sure it would be painful, EQ hasn't changed so much that it's possible to do that. But, with help from guildies or friends, you could PL up to at least the 50s in a very short amount of time, probably even more depending on who was helping you and how well they PL'd. It's also worth noting that there are veteran rewards and XP pots that allow you to go into double exp for a period of time. These speed things up considerably, especially if you pop one during a PL session. - AAXP has changed to be easier to accrue based on how many AA you have. The lower the number the more AAXP you get. I'm sure you heard plenty about this in the past couple of weeks. - Corpse summoners. This was probably in already when you last played, but if not I guess it is worth mentioning. You don't have to go back and get your corpse anymore if you don't want to - they have placed corpse summoning NPCs in the Guild Lobby which will summon your corpse in exchange for a stone you must buy. The cost goes up the higher level you are. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. The game is really much easier now, leveling is easier than WoW if you know what you're doing, which is funny considering WoW is considered the ez mode game. Ask if you have any more questions. |
