| Probably one feature I miss seeing, that might not be completely obvious, is the 'gun camera' feature in some of the MMO Flightsims. Strictly speaking, it DID get copied (a number of such MMO flightsims directly copied Air Warrior's design), but that feature never seems to have made the jump into other types of MMO games. Essentially, the 'gun camera' allowed the player to record his actions and created a file that permitted the player to play it back in-game. Later versions also permitted the camera to be shifted to the point of view of other aircraft or vehicles that were in the vicinity. The types of films I see people create for games such as Warcraft by using third-party tools seem to have much larger file sizes with less functionality. Of course, if a superior tool actually exists in one of the multiplayer RPG's and I'm merely unaware, I'm sure a helpful poster will mention it. Danth |

| I'll just reitterate the Mentoring system in EQ2/CoH - Every single game from this day forward needs to incorportate this. Also, I would like to see more indepth quests. I'm only comparing EQ/EQ2 to WoW in this respect. I haven't experienced enough of the other games around to argue their case. I greatly enjoyed the lengthy quests EQ/EQ2 had to offer, a perfect example, if anyone else has done it, is what is deemed the "Claymore" Quest Line in EQ2. Probably the most epic quest line I've ever had the joy of completing. Lots of camps, lots of collections, terrific story, involves a wide spread list of raids / dungeons / instances / open mobs and just aimless wandering, sending you to every neck of the woods. And not everything linked up perfectly... Some parts wern't available unless you had completed an entirely different line of quests that links to the main story. And for christ sake, the story... just terrific. Also, I realize no other game has had the opportunity to introduce this yet, but Heritage Quests in EQ2 are stellar as well! When more sequal MMO's come out, I hope they can bring those in as well.

| I'd like to see people improve shit, not just copy it. If you find a nice idea in a rival or similar MMO, and would like to somehow incorporate it in your game, great. But don't just fucking copy and paste it. Improve it. Make it better. |

| It's too new to be very applicable, but I love what Conan did with the Priest of Mitra. All of my heals are AoE so there's much less staring at bars and overall it feels more proactive. However I still have reactive things like my knockback/immunity to use when my HoT's cannot keep up. Preventing damage and feeling like I am actively involved in a fight compared to just standing there trying to maximize my time out of the 5SR is such a breath of fresh air. I hope other MMO's copy this style of healing support. |
