As long as it's easy to use, updates frequently (I'm thinking about Thottbot here), and isn't as slow as WoWArmory.

The good thing about CTProfiles was that it had a very easy interface to work with.

I didn't realize CTprofiles is back. But holy shit is it buggy. Hit rating at 68 while adding stuff. Added a +8 gem, went to 98. Removed the gem. Went to 114. Awesome.

Also doesn't tally armor penetration =/

While adding and removing enchants to see what I liked best, I got a T6 warrior tank down to -180 HP with 16,714 AP. Plus when I import a character from Armory it has the stats just plain wrong right off the bat. Massive fail.

It was mentioned before but Warcrafter has a sandbox mode that lets you mess around with everything, including your spec, while giving you feedback on how it changes your general stats but also your abilities. It is relatively bug free (nothing as glaring as what is quoted, there is an issue with searching for weapon slot upgrades where you have to mess around a bit due to the page layout but it works once you figure out the little trick to it). Even if you cannot access your character from the armory due to the armory being shit, you can still screw around with the sandbox mode and build a character with it.

Doesn't get much better than that. Import your character, swap out gear, stats stay on the left so you can see what your new stats are. Save your different profiles. Basically exactly what you were talking about...totally rad. Looks to only support level 70 characters.

I really like that site, just wish it wasn't so sluggish. If they made it run better it would be amazing.
