Anguish opening will have a huge impact on many guilds. Guilds that would never have made it to anguish can now go and they will by the droves to get those epic 2.0 orbs. Anguish is also some of the most underpowered raid content in EQ so new guilds that go there are not not going to have much trouble putting at least the easy three bosses on farm status.

Demi opening if your guild was at that level and didn't need help before then these changes wont effect it. But Demi is one of the great killing fields for guilds in EQ and this change will mean never having to back flag for demi ever again and also impact of getting every warm body that you can get into your raid into the zone can not be uderstated. This may make the difference for many guilds struggling in Demi and somewhere around half raiding guilds in EQ are stil at Demi level. Or maybe it wont who knows.

PoR opening means more guilds will go there most demi guilds would have simply skipped it now most will poke around ToB and Death knell a bit.

EQ1 is impossible to play now because the UI literally causes physical pain when you try to go back to it after using modern MMOs.

Takes a day or two to get used to, but it's not bad after that. It takes far longer to get used to the camera being so different, at least for me.

I think EQ has held up pretty well at it's core. Most classes are well designed and enjoyable and if you go in with a group of friends there is a ton of content and plenty of fun to be had.

Which is why I said "other than Anguish", also thinking more about it I'm not sure how useful the augs will be as they're only slot-8.

DP opening doesn't make much of a difference with backflags from Hatchet & Redfang, we killed Sendaii twice and never needed to again /shrug. DP is also a massive time sink once inside, if the 2.5 pages were a guaranteed drop it might be worthwhile, but otherwise I would suggest guilds spend their time elsewhere.

PoR was a massive a mount of flagging for relatively few encounters, and really at this point the only valuable loot are the clicks.

How far along are you guys now? If you are around where my rogue/clr were I'd probably reactivate my rogue. I still need my iksar mask and dwarf mask. Kevian stole the only one we ever got to drop in sleepers. Are you raiding anything?

Do you guys think there would be less backlash from the few who are upset about these changes if SoE offered some type of compensation like Blizzard?

There's no way to avoid some people being unhappy, but it seems like adding titles like Blizzard did is an easy no-brainer to at least show respect to your older players who have gone through all that content.

No, because the people who cry about this shit will still play. There is no reason to give them anything because they wont quit anyways.

Haha, point taken. But all the same, what would it hurt? I don't see a reason for SoE not to do this. It's not so much "giving in", but at least saying, "hey, we get where you're coming from, here's something to show what you earned."

I think it's a good idea, one that might even add life/content to the game in a backwards way, because if the titles are cool enough people might actually still do the flags/keys to get the title alone.

Actually they gain ability to say they did it the hard way and anyone that didn't is a gimp. Don't undervalue that its actually going to be quiet important to people who are complaining.

Exactly. It's the whole reason people even use forum signatures that give details about their characters. People like to show off their accomplishments, and showing that you sat through the torture that was the Vex Thal key quest is definitely something to brag about once it's gone.
