This game sounds awesome! Free to do as you want or wish I understand the whole anachary will ensue arguement but if they can pull it off it will definetly get my sub. Just reading the FAQ and the whole Deva system sounds like a cool twist on the FF Professions setup. Of course it is to early to pass judgement but I will admit I am pretty excited about this games potential.

I dunno the "idea" of no respawns of mobs will prolly turn into the mob respawns eventually with a different random name generator type thing. I mean mmo players would pick the world clean in a matter of months.

1. Hmmm so you kill a rare wolf and it's gone? Forever? Model is never going to be reused? Abilities? What about Rare-wolf-001 with scratch, Rare-wolf-002 with howl, Rare-wolf-002 with bite? Or will it be Rare-wolf-004-blue, Rare-wolf005-green, etc?

Assuming they do make rare unique models and monster abilities for rare mobs are they going to be massively super hard? Like require 40 high end players to even dent its health? So 99% of the rest of the game isn't these mobs?

I, like others, wanted to voice the following statements.

1) I came expecting Mortal Kombat online and was dissapointed by this likely future MMORPG failure.
2) I thought of Dumar immediately.

3) I thought of of Blizzard's April Fools day Molten Core promo when watching the vid and it's underwhelming feature list. True first person view!?!!? Holy shit, this is going to rock the industry to it's core!

A: It’s never easy to compare your work to others. The core team comes from the beta days of Ultima Online and wants to build a PvP game in the same spirit but with today’s technology. Some of the very first MMORPG’s had features we have always seen as primary for the genre, and we are surprised to see that so few have developed games based on those features since that time. In short, we find many of today’s MMORPG’s impressive and fun, but see most of them as “cooperative PvE” games with only rudimentary PvP functionality. This makes us even more determined to see our vision come true in Mortal Online.

I'm not sure how playing an MMO in first person is going to be. I'm skeptical, but I'm open to something different. People like customizing their own look and if they can't see themselves people might be pissed.

Then again, they already admit they are niche, and the people filling this niche probably don't give a shit.

It'll be fine? I mean everyone played EQ in first person seeing as the third person camera was ass. It wouldn't work in WoW, but it could for other games if developed with the limitations of such in mind.
