Hey now, what would be if games would be released with different rulesets. You just have 2 sections. 1 section develops the content, the art and basic gameplay and section 2 a b and c turn that into different rulesets. Ruleset "Ultimate sparta", "ruleset grindhouse ding ding" and "watered down funpark".

10 hitboxes per character, armor specific damage, possibility of bodypart-specific effects. The system requirements are going to be crazy.

Check out the short gameplay footage here, its outdated because its from pre-alpha but still looks cool.

English subtitles included if you turn on close captioning

YouTube - Mortal Online - Swedish Television Feature #2

You can skip to 4.38 for just the office/gameplay footage

Actually looks pretty interesting, but I've also hardly heard anything about this title. Is it coming out in the US that soon as well?

It's not due to launch until summer. I would assume that countdown is to beta signups or something.

Thats not a counter for the release. My guess is closed beta. This game probably wont release until late summer. Thats another guess.

lol
There was a Community Challenge, Dev Team vs Community Team. DOTA. If the community team would have won, they would have received beta accounts and exclusive screenshots.

What did the community do? Pick public newbs and get stomped.
I wish I would have heard about this earlier. Free beta accounts :[

The mortal irc is good to check out if you want info, the CEO of Starvault does Q/A's often and the things revealed dont leave the chatroom. He and some devs also play computor gamez with the community now and then.
