Funny how you think you're actually winning the arguement against Rayne...and personal insults aswell as claiming you know what others REALLY care about just shows you're starting to grasp

Not others, just Rayne.

And it sure doesn't feel like winning.

If it doesn't, what recourse does a game company have to protect thier game
You really cant be this fucking stupid i just fail to believe it. THEY ARE NOT CHALLENGING HIS RIGHT CREATE BOTS. THEY ARE CHALLENGING HIS RIGHT TO SELL A BOT PROGRAM THEY CLAIM VIOLATES THEIR COPYRIGHT. Most bots are FREE so once again already putting them outside the very narrow criteria blizzard is attempting to use to find this guy liable of copyright infringement. What legal recourse has any mmo ever created had to fight bots? You get fucking banned if caught thats the recourse thats the punishment people seek to avoid. There are hundreds of bot programs a vast majority of them require no purchase. That fact alone demonstrates how fucking stupid you are.

Is any of this sinking in? This lawsuit is focused on the ability of this man to sell his program. And of his supposed breach of copyright thats fucking it. Its not about RMT or somehow making bots "sanctioned". Win or lose this suit will have no impact on a goddamn thing relating to your experience playing it. If wowglider is unable to be sold after this changes fucking nothing. A precedent saying you cant SELL a bot program changes absolutely fucking nothing.

And it shouldn't. Because it isn't. This isn't about "winning or losing" points in an internet thread. Its about a thorough understanding of the realistically potential damage this asshole winning his case presents to the mmo genre. You have no fuckin' clue what I care about personally. So stop trying to "prove" that you do.

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE!

Hypothetical -
Judge "Judgement is that Fuckhead McGee must stop distributing his bot, and pay Vivendi X million dollars in damages"
Fuckhead McGee: "Welp. Time to start selling EQ bots instead"
Bot-programmer: "Hah. Doesn't affect me - I give my bot away/use it personally"
Blizzard Attack Lawyers: "Hi, have a C&D"
Bot-programmer: "But I wasn't selling it!"
Lawyers: "Like we care. See you in court. Hope you've got enough money to defend yourself because we've got a retainer that would make God Himself jealous, and something close enough to precedent to work in most courts"

VI. Conclusion
As demonstrated herein, MDY’s creation, promotion, and support of Glider
encourages and enables a significant community of cheaters to infringe Blizzard’s copyrights, breach their contracts, and conceal their harmful acts from Blizzard, all to the detriment of rule-abiding players and Blizzard’s premier product and good name. For the reasons stated herein, Blizzard respectfully requests this Court enter summary judgment on Blizzard’s copyright, DMCA and tort claims.
Dated: March 21, 2008 Respectfully submitted,
pasted directly from the .pdf of the motion for summary judgement. Looks pretty obvious to me that Blizzard is seeking legal precedent to halt ALL activities concerning the program. See what you can learn when you actually fuckin' read?

And if you think Blizzard won't seek reparations on behalf of thier European and Asian customers should they succeed in the US, you're only kidding yourself. Whether they win or lose in those venues remains to be seen.

Look here you dumb cunt, it doesn't matter that you live in US because not only are players from all over the world playing on your US Pacific server but the software they'll use to bot can and will still be developed and sold from other countries.

No my retarded friend they are seeking a judgment saying wowglider violates their copyright protected material. That is what this entire fucking case hinges on. Its the basis of this dispute. Long as you are not SELLING the fucking thing all of their claims are nullified (or at least the ones with a faint hope of actually being judged in their favor).

So once a fucking again. THE ISSUE IS NOT HIM MAKING THE BOT. ITS HIS ALLEGED COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT AND PROFITING FROM SELLING IT. Stop trying to read things you dont understand it will just confuse you. Even tho the very material you cut/paste supports exacly what i fucking said.

Thats what is being fought. This mans right to create/support and sell a product vivendi is claiming to be illegal. Not that the act of creating a bot is. But this bot SPECIFICALLY violates copyright in a very SPECIFIC manner. And that this man is making millions from it.

By that logic, since some countries dont respect copyright laws, we should just throw them all out the window.

And how can anyone think for a second that the ability to profit from making bot programs wont cause an increase in botting??? Ever hear of capitalism
