Exactly why I mentioned Gfay. It's crazy how those simple midis and ambient sounds had such an effect on the experience.

I actually went and downloaded a pack of the old midi songs and I've been listening to them, so many memories come back just from hearing the songs, especially the old opening Fanfare (granted that brought back mostly memories of how long it actually took me to log into the game ).

Most of EQ Vanilla and Kunark dungeons. I never understood why they moved away from super dungeons.

(EQ)
Guk - Crazy maze with all sorts of neat corners. Like the area behind the Mino Elder / Raster camp that winded up to the dead side.

Mischief - Where be the Cazic Thule Puppet?? Unique quests for very nice armor at the time. Dire charm at it's absolute peak (Bizznaawwa Baby!).

PoFear - When CT would DT someone and send the Amy temple a runnin. Explosive baby!

OldSeb - I remember being asked early into Kunark 'What drops there?' in guild channel. My response: "Half of Kunark drops here looks like!"

Unrest - What more needs to be said than the excitement of 6 groups all on the courtyard wall trying to pull from the house. Standing by the zone out wall when a good train came out of the basement, complete with Garanel Ruksif. Explosive MMO playing baby.

Kedge - If you could handle water, this was another gem.

PoHate 1x - The excitement of the port up, the anticipation, the carnage!

SolB - Once it worked, you can't beat the excitement of breaking Efreeti with a single group. Fire Giants Castle IN a dungeon, fucking. epic. genius.

(UT)
Facing Worlds - Capture the Flag. It had everything needed for co-op FPS. Offense, Defense, Sniping, the Redeemer baby. I know it's not an MMO but could spend hours in there. I was Raging Cunt (female robot, only mangina main I had), I probably killed you, was ranked in the 30's in the world stats thinger.

(VG)

Kojan - Crazy Lighting even though a generic 'Asian' feel to it.

(WoW)

Stormwind - The perfect looking fantasy city in my opinion.

Sebilis is probably one of the best designed dungeons in these types of games.

I always thought Stormwind was horribly put together. Such a crappy design.

For serious business raid zone:

For little details and best flavor:

Tirisfal Glades including Undercity. I remember logging into Tirisfal Glades in beta and instantly falling in love with WoW. No other starter zone had the same effect on me as did Tirisfal Glades

Why do so many people put Nagrand? I mean it's a decent farming zone but it never felt special.

I always liked Nagrand because after going through all the other zones, it was fresh, colorful and seemingly full of life. I also liked the Thunderbluff area as well because of this.

No reason to mark it as my favorite though.

Well for me its just such a classic fantasy setting with all of the different groups set there and opposed to each other, and all of the varied quests and lore involved in it.

Nagrand definitely. I just love that zone. It's the polar opposite of Blade's Edge in that it's completely wide open, lush, and full of life.

You see classic fantasy setting, while I see boring cliche shitfest designed expressly to allow devs to reuse models with updated textures. Look out Nesingwary! It's a group of Space Deer alongside those Space Owls and Space Kodo! It's really quite boring. Terrokar forest, on the other hand, is an awesome zone. They tried too hard to make it unique, what with the stupid light fruit, but overall it has a very unique atmosphere and a pretty fun layout.
