| First, I got more crap on screen when I ran in window mode, such as toolbar text bubbles and email notifications. It made switching to browser (necessary for those horrible prolonged raid recoveries) faster on the old computer, though. Even then, getting focus on start menu was still pretty annoying and took away precious seconds. Seriously, there is no need for what windows keys do by default. Even CapsLock is a bit more useful as you can mock the ALL CAPS retards easier. |

| I just love people making excuses for it. If you have to make a registry key to disable it, and that is considered fine, there is a problem. Prying it out with a knife is a much better solution. For one it's permanent, no amount of reformats will get that key working again. But it is reversable...just pop the key back on~ |

+20 Internets | Never been a problem for me to avoid the Windows key, and I actually use it fairly often. I don't like a lot of shortcuts on my desktop and I'm not a fan of the QuickLaunch bar either, so I've taken to putting most of my shortcuts in the customizable area of the start menu. It's actually pretty handy to be able to hit the Windows key while playing an MMO or whatever and have access to all my stuff (Firefox, Winamp, Photoshop, Notepad, other mmos, etc). |
