unfortunately no. you know the strat down to what PERCENT you should push your little button, or move, or whatever dumb little gimmick the encounter requires. and it's the same gimmick every time. you know this before you fight the boss. you don't even care what he does. half the time i don't even know what the boss does beforehand, i just know what bigwigs tells me to do. "too easy" indeed. don't partronize me about gameplay. fucking CHECKERS has more gameplay than wow has. wow is like a book club, except every meeting you talk about the same book. what chapter shall we read again tonight, oprah? the book is almost 5 years old now, maybe we should switch it up a little? nope!

+24 Internets | Interactivity wasn't doing the boss, it was the ability to look someone else do it while you waited because there was only one boss in the zone. At least that's what I get from dumar's explanations. Oh and you could also exploit the boss to run him to a zone, or whatever the shit was in the other wow thread he posted in. |

No, the retarded part is that you actually think the words "Role Playing Game" means "Chasing Loot Forever." Role Playing Game has nothing to do with loot. Loot and other forms of character increase may be associated with traditions of RPG experiences. This does not mean that RPG stands for character increase; by loot or other augmentation. Super Mario Bro's was a very good parallel even though it is not an RPG. It is a game that does not revolve around character augmentation, but augmentation of the character can benefit the character. Maybe you might have understood better had I used rocknroll racing. You could very well win races without all of the upgrades. It was easier when you got the upgrades but they were not the major key in your victory. In today's MMO's... Gear is > skill. It is the benchmark for the value of your character. Guilds across the world are fairly strict about their gear requirements. This would not be the case if mudflation were handled with a greater spread of grey area. Like Diatribe said, Quote:
A perfect example is Mrylokar's Dagger of Vengence. Until a few tiers into POP it was still very much viable. Yes there were upgrades, but mostly sidegrades or minor upgrades until Ifir, Dagger of Fire. Even so, you would not be laughed at for having a MDV while fighting Fennin Ro. Yes the item was revamped... but the point stands. MDV was and is viable through multiple expansions. Nobody likes the ring event... so what. That, ladies and gentle men, is exactly how it should work. While I wish gear played a lesser part of our gaming experience, there are ways we can deal with mudflation that work. Awaiting the next one liner response from random lurker number #42. Wish this board would get back to the days of intelligent discussion rather than just waiting to push the flame button. Naturally, flames will present themselves but your three little words hardly constitute a flame worthy of this board. Last edited by yknits : 04-03-2008 at 06:04 PM. Reason: broken links
