| Good for them. It is good to see a company that really wants to release a product that will impress people and get people to play longer then the first free month. Vanguard would not be the punchline of a million jokes today if they had done this a few times as well. |

+23 Internets | Two things: NO FUCKING EXCUSE FOR BLIZZARD TO TAKE THIS LONG FOR HEROIC CLASSES! We "might get Deathknight this year" FUCK!..where is my siege weapons and all the other heroic classes? No damm reason what so ever other then they don't care and put out minor content what every 6 months at the earliest? The excuse of they only put out quality stuff at this point is bullshit they have the resources to put out tons of quality stuff relatively quickly. Secondly, back on topic: The delay of this game was expected and maybe EA will throw more money at it to make it better. http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=647326 october. Edit: Since I can talk about it now, I'll go ahead and say this to Blackulaa: If they released today, the game would have failed miserably. If they released in June, it would have done "ok" and probably had 100-200k subscribers, but I even recognized last week that they definitely needed to delay the game. I found out about the delay a few days ago, but had a feeling in the back of my mind that from what I saw, the game would be delayed a bit. That's not to say what I saw was bad, just that some of it would have been half finished with a June release. Last edited by Kodylan : 03-27-2008 at 04:18 PM.

![]() I also think the "quality" excuse is complete bullshit. I saw nothing in TBC that made me go "oooohhh I see why it took so long!" and I am pretty sure WotLK will be no different. They are either dragging serious ass or simply don't have the manpower they need to produce content in a reasonable amount of time. Either way with the amount of money that pours in every month I see no reason they can not fix the problem. Add a few more people to the payroll if it means we see expansions even a few months quicker then we do now.

Edit: You're going to see WOTLK in the same time vicinity as Warhammer, with less influence from AOC. I guarantee it.

+6 Internets | I'm not disagreeing I'm not disagreeing that it should be delayed. What I'm saying is the best time would have been NOW if the game was ready and up to standards. To be honest I bet marketers are suggesting next year. I mean release in September when Blizzard knows your release date (anyone remember the EQ2-Wow Release date battle, and the subsequent Blizzard release timings and get creamed, or polish even further and have next year to yourself. No WOW, no AOC, No Stargate Worlds, no Starcraft 2, no Consoles Christmas hysteria, no unexpected hit out of nowhere, etc. I mean if we can wait till September, they could come up with an awesome reason to wait 6 months more for alone time with the consumer. It's not like EA is hurting for money...I mean I want Warhammer myself, been a vet subscriber, convention goer, contest loser, CE pre-order whore, *still not in beta tears*, and I will look at around 4-5 games to choose from then instead of one right now, when I'm perfectly bored. |

If they're smart it'll get pushed back to like March/April of next year like Kobalt said. They won't do it though.

| I can't really comment much on the state of the game as I am currently not in the beta. I definitely agree with the idea of working on and polishing a game until it is truly ready for release; however I have to say whoever is in charge of public relations over at Mythic needs to get fired. They have hyped up the game at almost exactly the wrong time. They "guaranteed" beta spots to a certain number of people and never delivered and time and time again they come up with excuses as to why that is. In fact, instead of any type of answer for those people they decide, "what the heck let's sell some more beta spots." On top of all of that Paul needs to shut his mouth about the game. He just throws in whatever the hell he thinks will hype people up about the game which will turn around and bite him when people start finding out the stuff he is saying is false. I understand it is a part of his job to hype up the game but it gets to a point where the public just want some truthful answers instead of his rambling on. I find Mark Jacobs to be pretty down to earth, but I think he is a little too much like Paul in his willingness to say whatever it takes to please the public; even if it is more level-headed. I respect the fact they have developed this game a lot quicker than most MMORPGs but ffs quit bringing that up every time you delay the damn thing; played that card 1 too many times. Does it disturb anyone else how often he brings up WoW? Hell man, if you want to go work for Blizzard here is a damn link: Blizzard Entertainment - Employment Opportunities All in all I am still excited for the game, but I've learned to look at it realistically instead of believing all the sewage spewing out of Paul's mouth. What Mythic should have done is not released any type of release window and delayed all the hype for a year from when it started. Then EA Mythic would be sitting on a polished game ready for release and an extremely hyped community. And you can't possibly tell me they thought they could have finished a game by the two previous release windows that have been given when they have decided to delay an extra 6 months. They keep bragging about how fast they have made this game; yet they need 6 months to "polish" it? How about some honesty for a change. |
