A month or two later and a few more purples I was having a hard time figuring out why I bothered to log on anymore. That's when they start asking me to attend the "farming" sessions twice weekly before AQ. I told them I'm a holy priest and just heal. They said respec and farm gold to respec again.

That was it. I was done. I will never do the farming to raid crap I had to do for BWL ever again. Ever.

Edit* Back then farming was for herbs for pots/flasks. Each hour your raided required roughly 2 hours farming.

I see now. You're one of those people that looks for reasons to be offended. It must be frustrating to go through life like that.

The hardcore raiding was what killed it for me 2 years ago. That and the stupid pvp system before its current incarnation.

I'm having a blast though levelling up my paladin. He's 62 now and after being told that I could re-epic up to reasonable gear, I'm stoked. I don't have the time or will to raid 5.5 days a week. Since it's so easy to make gold now, I have more liberty with my spending since I can make larger purchases now that I couldn't 2 years ago without having to spend large amounts of time farming.

What do you guys think about almost completely starting over? I had a 40something lock I played around 6 months ago. I was thinking of rolling a Druid recently to mess around with. Good idea? Bad?

Yup my last character was a BE Paladin, I hit 70 on him back in March I think. Level prot, and it was fun as hell. Then I thought about the whole gear grind and catching up thing again. And I fell flat on my face and never logged in again.

Ah well.

Thats a great idea if you think you'll have fun level 1-70. I couldn't bare leveling 1-60 again. Ever. But you can catch up quickly depending on your play time.

Yeah the thought of going 20-60 in the game's current state makes me think of cutting myself. I've pretty much distilled the fun out of this game. Only thing that remained fun was raiding hard content with cool people. Which as we all know is really hard to get the right situation. WotLK looks cool, but it still looks like the same old. WoW needs to have something really awesome before I even think of going back to it.

Its really that bad eh? I would probably be playing casually (2-4 hrs a day max). Bleh.

It's not that bad unless you're already totally burnt out. I came back recently from a 6 or so month hiatus and started a new Mage. I've gotten it to 30 playing about 2 hours a day or so, sometimes less. Only been a couple weeks now. Granted I know exactly where to go to do my quests and a good order to do them in, so I have an advantage there, but still it's a lot faster than it used to be with the new exp curve. Mounts at 30 now helps too.

It's only bad because he and I have done it 100's of times already so it's stale content. But since you've only done it once? You should have blast. The 1-60 game is some of the best gaming ever (if you love DIKU games). But it sucks after doing it a lot over 3-4 years.

Mounts at 30? Wow. Are the leveling guides (Joanas, ect) still viable to use?

Reps to the last 2 posts.

Jame's Alliance Leveling Guide | World of Warcraft Pro
Jame's Horde Leveling Guide | World of Warcraft Pro

Fastest and most efficient way to level, but you skip a lot of content. So depends how you want to play.

Also get "QuestHelper"

It looks at every quest in your book and then routes you, via waypoints to the fastest path for completion. It is by far the best addon ive ever seen

It has a few bugs in the way that it sometimes tells you to go someplace off queue(thereby wasting time) but overall it is pure win.

Get Lightheaded and TomTom, cant recommend those enough if you've done all these before. It gives you all the feedback for each quest in game from Wowhead (no alt tabbing to look shit up), and then tomtom will have an arrow that tells you what direction and how far you need to go to any loc.
