If you play on a Mac, you might have some issues with QuestHelper. It kept crashing mine off at random times, and always had to force quit. Try getting the newest version (whether or not you're on Mac or PC) and if that doesnt work then just hop on TomTom and Lightheaded

I'll try it again, but it didn't work very well when I tried it. Wouldn't recongnize half my quests :/

It worked for most of mine. Is there any worthwhile competition for quest helper? It does lack in some regards.

Blizzard introduced a shitheap of Daily quests which yield ~11g per turn in at max level. In Isle of Quel Danas alone you can do about 10 dailies for around 110 gold in less than an hour. Making gold is retardedly easy now.

So its not necessarily item inflation its the massive wallets that people have now.

If you're still wondering about a replacement, as r3probate said:

I've used TomTom and Lightheaded and they've worked quite well for me. I haven't had my Macbook Pro crash while playing WoW, so they seem quite stable.

Not to diverge too far off into economics, but yes, you're correct, it's the increase in the supply of money (in this case gold) which seems to be causing the inflation. Since there's more money, the relative cost of goods increases thus causing inflation. It's probably got less to do with the influx of items into the game.

Halp im running out of upgrades.. i just broke 17k hps tonight on my warrior.. still yet to step foot in any 25 man raids lol :\

only thing i need from ZA now is ZJs axe and 3rd chest ring. This stinks, i have no real reason to play him outside of tues/weds when i run kara/za.

It happens, even when running 25-man stuff. Looking at the bosses my guild can kill I can get a slight upgrade from a bracer. Everything else is a side-grade at best or specialized gear (like a higher regen set than my normal stuff) which I won't get because I'm one of the best geared healers we have and they'd rather nice cloth items go to our lesser geared Druids than as a "once in a while" item for me (which I'm fine with, it makes sense, just saying).

I already have an epic flying mount. I have another 5k in the bank. I don't bother with dailies anymore for the same reason I haven't touched the remaining quests I have in Netherstorm or the entirety of SMV, I don't need to. I log in from time to time when I need to collect flowers, fish up some new food or make some cloth. Other than that, I play alts. I never thought I'd end up at that stage but here I am. It is rather annoying after a while.

It's funny you mention not needing gold. I actually really enjoyed working towards the epic flying mount; being able to work on factions (namely SSO) for their rewards while also gaining the money for the flier was quite fun since I could sit in LFG for heroics simultaneously. The mix of solo grinding and group content kept me logging in and really enjoying my time. After I got my mount and exalted with SSO, I stopped logging in altogether. It was like EQ all over again, except I don't feel nearly the level of attachment to this level 70 than I did to my bard who I had had since the Nameless opened some months after release.

For SM, do you run all four instances or just stick to one, or what?

Also, can I get a direct link to those main discussions on multibox.com or whatever of the max exp for a multi-box PL grind? Using a 70 prot pally.

I completely agree with this. Well, with the motivated part. SSO faction was really well done imo, once all the quests were released. It felt like goals ontop of goals etc, that were all accomplished together. Do dailies for SSO rep yields gold, yields arcane tomes, fel armaments, and the like, while staying inside LFG channel for heroic whatever and then gain badges from supply bags as well.

I am on my 6th character to exalted, and while they are sorta getting boring, I am no less motivated because you literally see "chunks" of rep and gold EVERY DAY. It is a huge motivator, you feel like you are accomplishing something and it makes you want to log in again. I stopped doing 25 mans awhile ago when I realized I felt "compelled" to log on to help my guild. Now I do one ZA a week, and maybe a Kara with some Hyjal (Rage and Anetheron) and sunwell trash.

So...dozens of pages ago, in either this thread or another, there was a big thing about prot paladins and their gear. So I am 60 now, headed into outlands, wtf do I gear with? Just buy a bunch of green gear or? I already have seen the maintankadin list for level 70, but for right now I am wearing level 30 stuff + a few nice items that I picked up that I knew would be worthwhile and were cheap (Ardent custodian + Blackskull shield) and I doubt it will translate well. Weapons for the most part for paladins seem to be simply used for stats, so I think the custodian is ok, but obviously the shield needs an up, and so will the rest of my gear. Any ideas?

There's a spell damage mace in the hellfire instances and a nice spell damage sword from the first guy in Slave Pens, get one. Your weapon is usually where your spelldamage comes from, which is key to your threat. The chest item from one of the quest lines in HFP also will be useful to you as a tank (it is on the maintankadin list). Other than that, green "of the champion" gear is great to fill in gaps. There's a level 65 blue BoP shield that is sold an awful lot, get that if you can, it'll suit you for a while. Also, sporeggar rep. Get all of your stuff to turn in to them (bog lord tendrils then fertile spores) at 62 so you can get your Petrified Lichen Guard. Pop a shield spike on there and AoE tanking will be pie (when you can find the mobs to cooperate, that is).

Thanks! Yea I did buy some "of the champion" gear already. The only tank I've had was a druid, so for the most part alot of my regular gear easily translated to tank gear with the click of a button, and for the low end boss mobs being uncrittable wasn't as big of a deal as it was at 70. (Obviously.)

I just knew that when I swapped to prot early on, for the most part my shield was practically all that mattered; get an epic one and AE holy shield your heart out. Now that I might be tanking shit that can kill me, it's a bit of a bigger deal. All of the other chars I leveled new after TBC (Sham, Mage, Druid, and now Pal) my paladin is the only one who has had to actively locate new gear, as quests etc and lower gear wasn't the big difference between doing my job or not.

Though I gotta say, I went from scarlet monastery gear to a one hander that had like, x3 the damage than my two hander as a mage. The gear ups for casters are sorta nuts. :P

Also, another question. Reading EJ it seems like spell haste has become more valuable for an spriest, but I couldn't determine how good it was, what the conversion was, and when you should start getting it. It seems you want to cap it to put you at a 1s gcd?

SSO was one of the few factions I have really enjoyed grinding. It has a large variety of quests, good gold rewards, good bag rewards from some quests and of course great rewards at exhalted. It has an exhalted amulet for ever spec which has an extra proc that works with revered for another faction which isn't that hard to get.

All in all I would give SSO faction grinding a 8-9 out of 10 and thats coming from someone who has turned his account off more then a few times due to faction grinding. (For reference I have actually grinding SSO faction on 3 characters and still don't mind!)

The only thing I think they could do to make it better is add a heroic and/or daily normal quest(s).

I also have to say that I ran my first heroic on my druid yesterday and in my stupidity I ran it in heroic mgt. The first 2 bosses were stupidly easy but the 5 pack pulls after that require 2-3 cc or very good geared players. Then the boss requires sick DPS or I get pyroed and one-shotted. We had to bring in another tank to do the end boss and I just dps then but we got it done. In the future I'm running my group with 3 frost mages 1 holy priest and 1 druid (me) if I can. I'll substitute mages for rogues or hunters if I have to. I would love to bring Shaman but no CC + druid = bad bad heroic mgt run. I might be willing to try a 2 tank setup though..

It actually really angers me, because i never thought id hit this point either. The thing is if i cant get guilded like i couldnt this expansion for the WOLTK progression, im definitely going to quit this game. I need to do 25 man content period, its something new that i havent done since SSC/TK were still key required and i was doing it on my mind numbingly boring paladin back in the day.

The World of Warcraft Armory

Its silly though, the only things i can grab that are an upgrade would be rings.. 1 badge ring and hopefully soon we can actually get 3/4 chests in ZA so i can get that one as well, other than that maybe the badge gloves from the shattrath vendor other than that theres really nothing more i can use. oh and ZJs axe which im still waiting on on =p

makes me want to rage for the fact that i cannot actually get upgrades anymore, the key reason for this is because i literally havent touched 25 man content on my warrior and cant even do that because every guild on hyjal already has their tanks

on a sidenote.. what kind of TPS does a tank need to dish out in raids like BT/SW? out of curiosities sake
