[WoW] Thinking on coming back, how much has it changed? - Page 46

Quick question.

I just fully tanked ZA for the first time tanking the place.. i got ZJs BP, but i alrdy had a badge BP.. im well over defense cap so the defense cap isnt needed from badge bp.. i could get a lot more HP and hit from ZJs bp.. but lose .8% block and defense i dont need.. while gaining hit and hps.. worth the trade off?

Once you're crit immune start stacking avoidance, but don't COMPLETELY ignore block.

stats with stoicism atm is -
hit rating - 79
expertise - 21
HP - 15794
Armor - 16887
dodge - 22.72%
Parry - 17.61%
Block - 18.88%

Chestguard of the Warlord (Ungemmed/enchanted)
Hit - 105
Expertise - 21
HP - 15294
Armor - 16781
Dodge - 22.64
Parry - 17.21
Block - 18.48

With 3 sockets Y/R/B which id probably just put 3x 15sta in?

Considering block is just pushed off the table, block is absolutely useless once your crush immune.

Dodge/Stamina -> Parry/Defense (if crit immune)

Block is only useful for getting to uncrushability, once you have that you should begin replacing it with stamina/dodge. Every other stat is basically useless since you get the best returns from dodge and stamina, the extra block rating is just pushed off the table assuming shield block/holy shield is up. If shield block/holy shield aren't up it is just as useless though unless you somehow have over 92.4% avoidance you would still have a 10% chance to be crushed. Unless mechanics have somehow changed since the last time I checked.

Assuming you gain 45 stamina from gems, that would put chestguard of warlord at about 500 hp gained after talents and such. This would basically mean whats more important to you 30 hit rating and 150 hp or 100 armor and about .5% complete avoidance. I don't play a warrior so I don't understand hit rating mechanics but that is a better way to look at it I think.

Can anyone give me a quick rundown as to how/what/why tier 1 welfare changed to tier 2 merciless? And is the change permanent?

I just came back from a 3 month WoW vacation and noticed the change. And I'm a general WoW newb so any information on this would be cool.

They just made the S2 (merciless) available for the honor prices that previously S1 was. S1 is now only buyable through tokens or some shit. Change is definitely permanent.

Is there any theory behind that that you know of? Were raiders getting to far ahead statwise from PVP players? So to balance they upp'd the buyable to s2?

New season, it was always planned, they've done it from the beginning. S1 came out, S2 came out and S1 became chaper, S3 came out and S2 became chaper and S1 moved to honor, S4 came out few weeks ago, S3 became chaper, S2 moved to honor S1 got bumped off completely.

The idea primarily is so that you can actually catch up and compete. Suck at Arena's and BG's for a few weeks, get a mix of S3/S2 gear and then you can compete against the other people who suck until you get S4 gear and can compete with the S4 people for title/drake.

They are maintaining a baseline entry point status quo compared to the current top end in terms of gear.

The disparity from S1 to S4 would have been so large that the s1 players would be so woefully undergeared facing opponents with s4 gear that they may as well not even try. While i realize that every person on this board is over 2500 rating and is absolutely flawless and won gladiator titles before there were gladiator titles...Gear makes up a large part of pvp. Esp with the bastardization that is resiliance.

So yeah to make that long story short S1 compared to s4 is shit, so they made s2 purchaseable which is just less shitty than s1

Your hit is too low, you need about 9% to always hit with a special (142 hit rating). wiffing specials can end you as a tank.

About frostfire bolt. I thought it did damage of the type that would hurt the boss the most to skip immunities. So it will benefit from fire OR frost debuffs but not both, depending on which will do the most damage.

Although thinking about it theres no point having the spell if your "frostbolt" isn't going to benefit from your fire talents and vice versa.

That's only for figuring up resistances. It still counts as both a fire and frost spell.

Yeah the honor gear is 2 seasons behind arena gear. It's actually quite nice for alts, tho all the +res kinda neuters the set unlike when paladin gear had 0 res on it and was actually a good pve set to obtain.

Because arena season 4 gear is now available in arena, S1 disappeared, S2 took its place. S3 is still available for (less?) arena points afaik.

I resub'd today after a few months out, mostly to play around more with multiboxing and try out classes I never have before (shaman, hunter).

Circuit City has a sale on the Battlechest for $28 (normally $40), I picked up 3 for $90 last night plus re-activated the two accounts I already have. Gonna try to 5-box 5 hunters for shits and giggles and see how fun it is, just installed Keyclone and going through the software setups and such.

Its pretty cool actually, I spent an hour figuring out the sym link stuff in XP so now I have 4 wow directories that are just symbolic links off my main wow directory, ie only 1 real copy of wow (plus all the mods etc) and 4 ghosts. Keyclone is pretty awesome, much cooler than just a g15 to broadcast out key commands.

Definitely make liberal use of refer-a-friend and scroll-of-rez, a friend emailed me a refer a week ago so now he gets an extra 30 days, and I used my own refer off the first account to activate the other 2, plus scrolled my 2 existing accounts for a fuckton of free time spread all around.

Dunno how my FPS is gonna hold up on a c2duo 2.4ghz w/ 4gb and 8800GT, but I was able to run 1 main wow window at 1378x780 and 4 child wow's at 800x600 (2nd monitor) and was hitting 40fps using keyclone and its awesome "PiP" functionality, which lets you quickly swap to the main window any of the child WoWs.
