+3 Internets | Ya I noticed, I can kill things my level or 1 level above me, but even 2 at a time means I basically die. This is after finding a decent weapon on the AH which basically doubled my dmg. Enjoying the challenge though, havn't leveled a char in so long and conan left a bad taste in my mouth leveling. Will be nice playing a class that is acctually able to respec and do something as opposed to my prot pally who was basically pidgeon holed there after the illumination rape. |

Does Winter's Grasp actually stick on bosses? Forget that spec I posted if it does, now every Mage has to spec Frost to get maximum uptime on that so they can all whore out Shatter crits.

| yeah the crazy guys over at EJ TC'ed that 4 mages could have over a 90% uptime on wintersgrasp. Thats the entire point of the effect / talent is to make bosses "freezeable". Deep frost mages would push about 75 - 85% crit rate on frostbolt. As it stands FFB taking at least at this point exceeds even that. |

| If you have a robust server, take skinning and mining/enchanting/alch/whatever. Sunwell is aging now but there are still tons of guild-funded re-roll LWers for drumming. As an aside, Winter's Grasp will either get nerfed to shit or shatter will. My money is on the latter so they can push the eSport and make mages more real dps-ish and less CC/OMFGASHATTERCOMBO. I still chuckle about the idea of it going live though, given that the mechanic is worse than rolling ignites and ISB combined. Seriously, it makes for stacking frost mages infinitely wise as your dps source. Diminishing for sure but well, well beyond three unless they are pegging base mage dps at sub-tank for non-ideal groups. On paper it is just a mess right now. |

| Not to mention with Windfury being changed to a buff instead of a weapon imbue then more than just frost DKs will likely get Frozen Rune Weapon (Increases Targets vulnerability to frost each hit) as many will be going down frost as a second tree anyway for Icy Talons. |

| I completely agree northerner. I envision mages just running around spamming icelance moreso than they do now till WG procs. then pew pew. Though that is a much needed facet for mage pvp high mobile damage. Standing and casting is dead in pvp there is just no time for it. |

| I really have no idea how any class is expected to stand and cast anything with teleporting, stunning, spell-immune at will, snare applying and ranged-cc'ing rogues running around. Mages least of all, since they are by far the most fragile class. That said, the arcane ice-lance at 51 points in wotlk looks interesting. Also, did you notice that magic absorption has been changed to 1 resist all per level at 5 points? That'll be 80 resist to all schools at level 80, that makes that talent worth taking. +2 Internets | So I decided to reactivate after not playing for 6-8 months. I tried to get into account management and it tells me that my account is suspended and to check my e-mail. I searched my junk mail and sure enough, there's a mail from blizzard saying my account has been suspended for "exploiting the economy" (wtf). The e-mail is dated May 7th, at a point when my account had been inactive for a good 6 months (and it was most definitely inactive as I'm someone who meticulously goes through the CC bill every month). To make things more interesting, I checked my armory. My character is the same as they were, but at the bottom it says it was last updated. . .May 7th. Intrigued, I checked my alts, my 62 priest was updated the same day (and he still has the thrallmar favor active I logged him out with, long before May 7th) and even weirder, my lv 10 rogue was updated the previous day. All my characters are geared too, so in the wildly unlikely scenario my account was hacked by someone who went through the trouble to use a card to even activate it, they didn't touch my gear. Which makes me think it's a Blizzard fuckup, we'll see Monday. Last edited by CXB : 07-13-2008 at 04:21 PM. |

+3 Internets | I reactivated my account after over a year and was leveling a warrior. Sucked it up and petitioned about getting my 70 paladin restored and sure enough they did it. Got my prot pally back, but only with the gear I deleted him with. This unfortuantely left me with a helm, 2 rings, and a shield because everything else got vendored/DE'd. Thankfully I'm exalted with almost everyone and can buy all the stuff, but these daily quests are so challenging with no gear haha. |

| Since I'm playing with the idea of rolling a shadow priest, I wonder if you know a good mod to track dots also on mobs you are not targeting. I heard DoTimer is good, but seems to not have been updated for a while (maybe I'm wrong here). I'd prefer an ace mod obtainable from the updater possibly. Thanks in advance. |

+1 Internets | I get that frostfire bolt is affected by both talents, such that a crit will get bonuses from ignite, spell power, and ice shards. But what about something specific like "Improved Fireball"(I'm guessing no)? Or what about passive talents in both trees, like Critical Mass and Piercing Ice?

| Imp. Fireball/Frostbolt specifically wouldn't effect it, but people are saying all of the following will: Impact Ignite Flame Throwing Burning Soul Improved Scorch Master of Elements Playing with Fire Critical Mass Fire Power Pyromaniac Combustion Molten Fury Elemental Precision Ice Shards Frostbite Permafrost Piercing Ice Frost Channeling Shatter Winter's Chill Arctic Winds |
