Thanks for all the info guys. I think I'm gonna go with it. I'll just stick to frost and have fun in instances and pvp and then give raiding on him a consideration after the expansion hits.

Hopefully they'll throw mages a bone in WotLK. I'd be happy simply seeing them as the kings of AE, Warlocks currently wear that crown as well. As long as encounters were designed to need AE (which is good for Paladins as well) I think mages would feel fine with that.

Eh the 1v1 game is meaningless. I understand rogues are pretty insane still atm, but warriors can't kill much 1v1 yet w/ decent support they're one of the stronger classes. Rogues had to be the best 1v1 class and they are for the most part, it's just they're quite good at 2v2 3v3 too ><. Blizzard has already tweaked cd, which I think is going to help a lot. Last wow tournament almost every team was rocking rogues, would love to see less of that.

well I decided to reactivate my account, gonna make an alliance warrior on dalaran since I looked at armory and a few of my friends are still playing. Hoping this is alot more enjoyable this time around considering I don't remember anything about the game and leveling is supposed to be alot faster.

Well, there will be AE and probably more than we've seen so far but it is a pretty shitty role to be "king" of even so. AE is zero-sum in that you have enough or you don't and so far almost every AE encounter has erred on the side of easiness. Combined with how it looks like every class is going to have AE abilities in WoTLK and being good at it just means a little more rest time between waves or something. I don't know what they are thinking with more PBAE for mages anyhow unless encounters are going to change quite a bit.

For what it is worth, I've got a Mage and a Warlock at 70 and if I play either of them to 80, I doubt very, very much it will be the Mage. I may well just be bored with the Mage of course though as he was my raiding main through vanilla and TBC.

A buddy of mine has decided to quit the game and gave me his full s3 geared druid. I'm gonna server transfer him to my server and team him with a couple RL friends that play rogue and hunter for 3v3. I've played shaman warrior and lock to 70 but never a druid. Any of ya have any tips for me for playing a resto druid in arenas?

I still think they should bring back rolling ignites, make amplify magic work on mobs, and add a new talent "From the ashes" that is a combat-based battle-rez that increases the rez'd targets damage and critical strike chance by 20% for 30 seconds after the rez.

Would pretty much make having at least 2 mages fucking win and 3 sure as shit wouldn't hurt.

The new Frostfire Bolt, if it stays in the game with the current mechanics, really rewards you when you stack Mages. Since it's affected by both Frost and Fire talents, you can have one Mage go Fire for imp Scorch, another go Frost for Winter's Chill, and then subsequent Mages get to go 34/23/14 and get like 25% base crit, with crits doing 350% damage.

Don't get your hopes up, if it'd make mages dps competitive with rogues/warlocks it'll be nerfed.

Yeah i am sure frostfirebolt will get nerfed, becuase with all the inter-mage synergy proposed with Winters Grasp *not chill* and frostfirebolt its almost certain. If live though mages would have to sit on thier ass alot 350% crits means big time threat which means instead of pew pew its pew..............pew

Frost mages will also have some nice synergy with Frost DKs.

Reinstalled and have a level 11 warrior now. Never realized how challenging this game can be without having the backing of a level 70. Normally I start alts with 20-100 gold whichWithout a level 70 though, I don't even have the money to buy a new sword so I'm sitting here using a 3 dps sword and can hardly beat a level 11 1v1. I don't mind the challenge, but it is definately a change of pace .

Seek out the quests that give weapon rewards. I wont lie though, leveling a warrior is SHITTY until you get to 35-ish and especially 40 when you get MS/BT.
