As for PvP, I'll agree, unless you hit stranglethorn during the weekend which might end up being pretty bad with 70s camping the hunter's camp, you'll hardly get killed. And with 2.3+ xp, you can skip stv anyway, or at least the grinding quests in the north part. | |

+9 Internets | The AH is actually the main reason I said that. I tacked the PvP part on for kicks. I mean...on my server there are still always horde in Redridge for example, but it shouldn't really slow you down noticeably. |

+1 Internets | Think they just need the american version of the games? I mean I played in a latenight raiding guild with guys from australia and UK, so I think that's how.

+15 Internets | You need an US account to play on US servers. So a key from the US, either bought online or order the box from the US. You also need the US client, but that's easy to get from the official website. For the key, I think lbizzard now sells them, else use a goldselling website, like swagvault or ige, they deliver keys fast. Nothing special besides that. |

| Pride Never Die | He might need a time card too as using a European credit card might set off some flag maybe?

+15 Internets | Adress doesn't matter, you can input anything you feel like really, but you might as well input a fake US-like adress. Use the real name though, it's useful if you get hacked or whatever, if the name on the credit card and the name on the account are the same. For the credit card, the only issue is sometimes euro cards won't work on US billing. You'll either need timecards then(can buy them online) or someone to pay for the account. When wow launched, I played on US servers, and my CC wouldn't work. Then I went on euro servers at launch over here, but after a few months I went back to US and by then my CC, which was the same as before, was working. Had no issue playing about 10months or so on US servers. I doubt they'd have made it harsher in the meantime but I haven't played on the US servers since then. |

+4 Internets | I play on US servers and pay with a non-US based credit card. I had some problems with one of my regular credit cards, but another one worked. I did input a US-based address. My other friends that play here didn't have an issue using non-US credit cards though.

+3 Internets | After reading all this WOTLK hype I have a question for anyone who plays a pally tank. I know paladin tanks have been talked about alot in this thread, but mostly in the context of 5 mans/heroics, but how viable are they for raiding now? I had a 70 pally tank that could do all of kara, but this was early TBC back when gruul was challenging and vashj was unkillable and pally tanks were extremely rare and basically laughed at just like boomkin and ret pally. Off hand I remember being the best geared pally tank on my server but considering there were only probably 10 of us that wasn't all that impressive . In that time period, a pally tank dominated 5 mans and things like everyone is talking about, but my char really hit a wall once I hit 25 man content and I was basically just a second rate warrior that was brought along for trash clearing since I could build agro much faster then a warrior. During boss fights I basically AFK'd doing 300 dps or something pitiful, is it basically the same way still? If I rerolled I would want to play a tank again, but I always liked playing the outside the box class which in TBC was the pally tank. If I rerolled a pally tank for wotlk would I have any viability in the raiding game, or would I just be the trash killer and then the guy that stands in the corner and puts on healing gear on boss mobs? |

+53 Internets | TBC has been really good to paladin tanks lately thanks to 9 out of every 10 bosses being a demon (meaning extra threat) and our tanking gear finally having decent stat allocation. We are slightly handicapped by not having any 'oh shit' buttons like warriors and taking progressively more damage then a druid but it's not too bad especially several fights incorporate AE tanking and not in a general 'throw you a bone' style. Tanking add's on m'uru is actually pretty brutal due to various annoying 'features' on that fight. Being utterly useless once your tanking job is over is kinda annoying (hi2u Eredar twins/m'uru) but it's nice being useful for the rest of the fight. It could be worse. You could be a retadin or heaven help you a holy paladin. |

+1 Internets | I play a pally tank, and it has been viable at all levels of content. That being said, if you really want to be "outside the box", and since you are essentially starting over, then you may want to consider levelling up the new death knight class and see what it will have to offer as far as tanking. |
