This is a pretty big deal. Back when I was playing I tried to convince some rl friends to try the game out, but they all feel it is pointless because it's unlikely to receive any substantial content updates.

Like many of the other games SoE snatched up for the station pass, they'll probably just keep it afloat as long as it is somewhat profitable. I don't see them doing any expansions or anything though.

yeah, sounds like he's talking about spires keep. Too bad I went back to my disciple on Seradon or I'd join you.

Yes, that one. Apparently it's the best kept secret in the game to this day because no one I've spoken to knew anything about it. From what I can tell, the weapons were upgraded when a lot of quest gear was revamped. The dagger is 48dps with a DD proc now, and you can use it at 32. There's also a martial sword, caster staff, 2h mace that procs some crazy evasion buff, and the 1h mace.

If you're medium armor, you should check out dargun's tombs. The "slayer" medium armor set is phenomenal. I just have three rare pieces and i'm sitting on like 10% melee damage and 6% melee accuracy just from that gear alone (vs level 35). There are heroic slayer bp and legs that drop somewhere in there as well.

Also, the weapon I got from the dargun's tomb weapon chain (2h martial staff) has a crazy damage range and has another 4.5% melee damage and +100 hp. Basically I'm chain hitting for 2k because my crit rate is through the roof (disciple damage stance gives 10% crit) so I spend most of my time doing my 3 part finisher chain. If you're interested in doing that weapon chain, check out the guide in the silkyvenom vanguard wiki. Silky Venom (scroll down to weapon quest).

The only problem is that my insane damage coupled with healing hate means that virtually nobody can hold aggro above me if i feel like going all out. Fortunately I farmed nishek (in tk6) for two weeks to get a martial sword with 18% parry vs lvl 35 which i switch to when getting attacked (along with my defensive stance which gives some more evasion and spell mitigation). Yeah I know the spires keep martial sword is better and it's my next stop. Heh.

Of course none of this would be possible if I didn't spend 90% of my time with xp off. I recommend using the xp off buff--drop rates and quest times weren't designed with the current leveling speed in mind and if you slow down you can get a feel for what the game was supposed to be like. When you hit up 2-3 dungeons in each level ranges it really makes the world seem more epic and gets you a ton of kickass gear.

Kinda sort of wished I did the above I outleveled a few dungeons I wished to see. I am currently doing CIS quest line for the 6th time or so, but the loot is too good to pass up for level 23-32. Not gonna worry to much though as I have yet to see the 37+game and I am crafting like mad. Crafted gear is just awesome.

Those Dargun's rewards would have to be very upgraded to be worth equipping, judging by that link. I still want to see the dungeon itself though. Too bad it's always deserted.

They have been upgraded from what's listed there (basically all adventuring items were, except for pantheon which are still insanely good)

Disciple/Monk 2h staff
before
147-222 damage
38 melee damage rating
~90 hp/energy

now
171-256 damage
63 melee damage rating
~100 hp/energy

Granted, it's not as good as craigwind but it's much quicker. And it's not really that deserted. There were two other groups in there last night on seradon. If you want to get a group for somewhere (this always works for me) just go to the advanced find tab (social>find>advanced find) and ask everyone in your level range. It helps to filter by archetype because you can only get up to 40 results at a time. Just alt-tab and type out "Hey, do you want to go to Dargun's Tomb" somewhere like in a word processor, then copy it. Ctrl+V to everyone on your list. Most will say no, but won't be pissed off you randomly hit them up.. Don't wait for responses, just spam them all then sort it out later. If you get too many people, just tell them that you're full and it won't be a big deal. I tend not to respond to people who say no, just to make it quicker. Sometimes i just send them a quick "thanks anyway" or "next time then." It works really well, I suggest you try it.

Seradon! Though honesty forces me to admit I haven't played in three weeks ;-) Not getting back on the VG grind until late June at the earliest.

VG is VG. Some great ideas, some not so great. Mind crippling bugs at launch, annoying changes now. I'll keep going back until something I like better comes along.

So I heard that the game's population is getting higher, hence the server transfers.

This true?

Also, if we have a guild on Seradon as well, invite Artavius. I'm trying this server out for a change of pace. If TMB doesn't get active again, though, I might have to transfer. :/

I told you I farmed that for like 2weeks straight. On my bard it was part of my usual routine to get those stupid gloves from the named blackwidow in the mountain path. Kill the 5named then kill Baelthom. He dropped good stuff, just nothing very good for a bard. He was easy enough to solo, since he's snareable and only have melee attacks. Just took a long time. The oranges were bop even then, but the yellows were not, and iirc that's where you get Shik's Steelpoint. Not from Baelthom, but from one of the named you farm for baelthom. This dagger is pretty much pure win, because it procs a stun. I dualwielded them, made for some good stun lock combos with the weakness exploit bards can do, was awesome for pvping.

Anyway my sub ended a few days ago, and since my friends are all about CONAN CONAN WE'RE GONNA CAMP THE NOOBS or some shit, I'm actually gonna play that for a while. I'll be back for GU5 I guess, check out how cool my psi is and cry I can't take him to another game with more endgame, like wow. I wish I could play my psi or my disc in sunwell.

There's one thing that is really pissing me off and that's the ridiculously low drawing distance for most objects. 20x20ft tents just appear in front of me at 50y distance. what the fuck.
