| Still enjoying VG but just wanted to point out how incredibly frustrating crafting is. I was already able to make sloops as a boat maker when I came back and forgot why I stopped doing it. After a week of grinding out to 35 so I can make caravels is still really quite annoying. Whats annoying is not the grind so much because you do get new abilities as you level up but its the amount of complications you get on everything you make. I have above average gear/ tools and really don't see any point to the gear since my complications NEVER drop as I level and improve my stats / abilities. Its all fluff. The longer the levels get I am ready to chuck the keyboard out the window. The only thing keeping me going is the ability to make caravels and Galleons when they come out. Other than that, the constant bullshit complications takes the fun(whats there) out of it. |

| We bawlin boi! | I'll probably give it a shot since the CE is only like 12 bucks lol. Hell, that comes with the 1st month free and if its ass awful I come away with an art book and a music cd (loved the music in beta). Cant really lose out there. I'll probably go blood mage too.

| Complications are definitely lame. Some don't even make sense. For instance, there's a low level one that simply adds 20% to your action point cost and lasts 5 turns. It takes 50 AP to attempt to fix it and without fail it takes me 2 tries to fix it; typically the first try will get the complication about 70-90% complete. Problem is, those two attempts take 120 AP. Most of the abilities to advance the craft item take 75-100 AP, so it's almost always more efficient (AP-wise) to simply ignore it, as it takes more AP to fix it. Do you ever get more than 2000 AP? |

| I can dance if I want to | If you're getting tons of complications you're doing it wrong. No offense but by your description you sound like all you're doing is grinding and not really attempting to understand the system. Also unless it's changed, the complications you get almost always appear during certain stages/actions. Often times it's better to use a less AP efficient method of getting to the finish because the actions that create large chunks of quality and/or progress intentionally create more complications. Each item is different and if you're paying attention you start noticing the patterns and can avoid them...or can specifically trigger the good complications. |

| No sense re-rolling on Xeth anymore anyway. Guild's deader than dead.

| If the forums over on the official site are any indication, AoC is Vanguard 2.0, so you can expect anyone trying out the beta back pretty soon. I've never understood the appeal of GTA myself.
