| I've noticed that some starting areas are really fun. Others not so much. If the Isle of Dawn is done right I think it could be great. Especially if they offer it as a trial to new players for free and get more subs. |

+38 Internets | An isle done right could be a very good thing for easing players into the game and giving them a chance to see that the gameplay is good even if there are many other flaws. As Vithe said, some starting areas are good, but just as many others completely suck. It might be better to have one really awesome one, even if it detracts from world lore (which I am normally very against). |

+39 Internets | I expect them to give you the choice between starting on the newbie island, or where you'd usually start now. Thing is, currently, some starting zones are REALLY bad. Some compensate with good scenery(for example mordebi humans, you come running down the mountains and see Khal lieing down in the valley, awesome, but the starting zone fucking blows), others are straight up bad in my opinion(hathor zhi, chunk in the middle of it with quests sending you on back and forth, lots of running, some mobs are rare). A few however are just great, like Kurashasa staring zone(from a lore point) or Martok(gob/orc starting zone). There's also rewards issues, in some you get a weapon really early(raki/woodelf first quest gives a lvl5ish white weapon, others don't have weapons until lvl 6-7 stuff). There's also general looks. While Kojan and Thestran races get a bit of variety, all of Qalia is the fucking same, brown and more brown. For all these reason a new starting zone can't be bad, and it can also be easier for people to understand if it has mini tutorials and shit like that. |

+7 Internets | About the 6 dot bee in the hive that someone fought.. I tanked it earlier in the week and it actually did the same damage as the 3/4 dots in the dungeon. It was disappointing but its actually for a quest. Paladins are pretty overpowered around 12ish but it slows down. My DPS is decent now and I could probably solo a 4 dot at my level but a lot of the stuff like the 800 damage nuke is fading away because the damage isn't scaling much with my level. Zeal is pretty nice though, I always use it on names. |

| Sadly, this thread coincided with a strong itch to CC some fools, so I resubbed and started a Psi. Promptly upon receiving the nuke which does a slight amount of self damage, I legendary crit the self damage portion and did more damage to myself than I have hit points. So essentially, if soloing, this spell simply includes a tiny chance to outright slay myself upon casting it. Fantastic. |

| The problem is they nerfed a lot of dungeons by reducing the dot count (4 dots became 3s, 3s became 2, etc.) and then turned around and buffed classes. So a lot of dungeons are insanely easy compared to their state at release. |

I believe it is 1 VP every 2 minutes. And he is right, my paladin is about 28 and I can solo 4 dots most of the time if nothing adds etc (I respecced STR/VIT max split int/wis). I will probably drop the wis in favor of dex and possible drop the int in favor of dex as well (thought it might add more dmg than it currently does, but a DK a pally is not). | |

| Ya, I would get that bug literally every few fights on my bard. I think it almost always occurred off the Bard's DoT skill, Razor Parts Silk...or whatever it's called. I always opened with it and it became completely normal to see 5847573485. |
