Yeah it's insane. We killed it pre-gu4, but killing it post gu-4 was probably our biggest accomplishment in APW. Definitely a harder fight than kota/zaygius...

What are some of the other big quests to do after HL/CiS? Are there any cool quests in the late 20's or 30's?

Legs faeries seem soloable, if I can get them alone...Duoable at worst.
Find a bard for that step, lev + bard song = fast turtle kills, the skrillen hides I just AE'd the hell out of went by quick.

After CIS you can start on Wardship faction / quests. I didn't make it that far on Seradon, but I was told that is the next step of advancement.

Do Wardship area (southeast tip of thestra) in the 30's for some good armor and what is in my opinion a very cool area (great ambience).

Once you hit your 40's you can start on the Greystone weapon quest which gives you an amazing heroic weapon (very high top-end on the 2h maul).

After Greystone, dungeons like Rahz Inkur, Temple of Tehatamani, and swamps/heg dungeon (southwest thestra) open up.

There's also Arena at 30-35ish which is a big grind for decent weapons but probably not worth doing, and Cragwind for good to awesome weapons, as a grind again. There was Pantheon of the Ancient around 30-32, but it's broken currently, which iss ad since it's one of the most awesome thing I've seen in this gae, back a year ago or so when it worked.

Other than that, you have plenty of dungeons without quests, but still dropping yellows/oranges(not sure about reds) all over the world.

Are there many/any dungeons where the majority of mobs are 5 dot? We were doing Azebaj hive last night and really demolishing the place. I'm not sure what exactly was going on but even when we fought a lvl 15 6 dot boss I, as cleric, only had to heal two times. I couldn't understand where all the damage was going. Our tanks were 14 war and 12 pal, so he shoulda been doing some solid damage. Same goes for all the 4 and 5 dots throughout the rest of the place; the only time's I had to heal more than once per fight was when we aggroed 3 or 4 at a time.

Long story short, I'd rather grind dungeons on 'hard' 5-dots than 3-4. Is that a wish that can be fulfilled? It was actually a lot of fun to just grind a dungeon, even after we had completed our quests.

At low level everything is easy pretty much. Starting 30, all the dungeons are full of 5dots and 6dots bosses. They also start to hit decently hard, enough to fold casters in 3hits, so managing the heals and so on is useful.

It starts a bit early if you fuck up pulls though, like we had 6pull in upper cis and it was pretty funny to heal/fight through. Had a warrior a cleric a rogue and me on my disc. But overall the difficulty on the dungeons isn't very high currently, mostly because they've been "fixing" classes, but haven't bothered with pve balance preraid. It does get a bit more interesting as you level up though.

Pantheon of the Ancients is due for a fix with GU5 which should be hitting the test server any day now.

a brief run down on whats expected with GU5

1) Trial Island (Isle of Dawn)
2) Class revamps (psi, sorc, rogue) -May be more-
3) Body revamp (Gu4 did the heads and Gu5 will do the rest)
4) New character customization (the return of the sexy)
5) Hitching reduction code (might only be part 1 of it)

The above 5 items are from dev postings and are subject to change.

The following items have a good chance of being in Gu5 but have not been confirmed.

1) Pantheon revamp
2) Haste revamp
3) New raid mob (seams to be at lease one per GU)
4) Hopefully the Pegasus quest
5) Galleons (Hopefully the sea chucks get turned on)

Things have really came a long way with this game & its slowly starting to increase in subs via word of mouth, sadly seeing how badly Brad fucked up this game, it may never overcome its stigmata of "Teh Suck"

That shit hopefully coming in GU5 sounds hot. Good info too, Pyros.

On a related note, anyone know what causes massive slowdown during fights? In that same Hive I mentioned earlier I was literally dropping down into single digit FPS when we were fighting. I'm in a god damn cave with 4 guys and 3 wasps around me and I'm stuck watching a slideshow. When I'm running around outside I can easily get 25+ FPS, and that's with a decent viewing distance and environmental effects, etc.

Anyone else think Paladin's are OP?

We get "Zeal" at level 12, which doubles all dmg done with any special attack, and reduces endurance used on said attack in half. It costs 3 virtue points (I have a max of 9). You might say that "well it uses virtue points, and those are hard to come by", wrong. I get a virtue point back every couple minutes or so, which means every big fight, I can unleash a lot of anal rapage.

On top of that, we get a skill that uses 1 virtue point and does direct damage of 600-800 w/ no mana or endurance.

I am still low level, I understand that, but it just feels way unfair to be able to unleash so much pwnage. Are virtue points bugged or anything?

No need to reroll, just hoof it out to the nearest Riftstone and you can go anywhere in the world.

Am I the only one that thinks this is a really bad idea? I love the starting areas as they are...
