If anyones rerolling and doesnt have a guild, perhaps us guys can make our own guild to be with like-minded folk. I'm in a casual guild now, but I have no real attachments aside from some guy giving me 5gold. Think he thought I was female.

Shamans are always nice to have, but not to sound cliche but play what you want, its probably best for anyone wanting to play.

They are doing them over supposedly. I dont know exactly what they are doing, but they said new character models will be incoming fairly soon.

I hope this is true, and that they are more than just minor changes. Honestly, if I could get into my character I could ignore a lot of the other game flaws. It's just hard to care about advancing and getting gear for a character that looks like a complete retard regardless.

Yup. The charachters fight like retards. I'd love to see some specifics on the change. Because now that this game has some endgame and runs smoother, I'd play it if the animations didn't look so bad.

I posted this in the rickshawed VG post, but proper fencing technique (atleast with saber)has you bent forward at the waist, so it's not ridiculous of them to make it this way

But yet if the first thing you learn in a boxing class or a martial arts class is to keep your head back and tucked in. Maybe they could have gone the route that other MMO's have done and not leaned forward jaw first.

Yeah but it is only for fencing style pretty much, which also has you facing sideways to protect your unarmed hand. You wouldn't do the same thing with a shield(well unless you're a BE female paladin in wow, then you fight sideways, with your weapon in front and your shield in the back). I don't really mind the positions and stuff, but yeah the animations are pretty crappy overall, they don't flow together and such. It's sad cause there's a few good animations in it too, just that it doesn't look very natural most of the time.

Good choice for end game.

I finally subbed (its sweet was in beta so it seems like they flagged my acct for all the veteran rewards) and am trying to pick between two classes that pique my interest. Played the psion in beta, and the way that combat worked, CC wasn't that big a deal. So I was thinking of playing a Bard instead, still a little CC but lots of action. What of those two options would be most useful for a raiding guild?

Raiding guilds usually have tons of bards, so ya may have trouble finding a good raiding guild as a bard.

Do psions still suck?

It seems they can solo ok from what I read just in case I get stuck on and can't find a group.

Maybe I should rephrase, whats a good desireable class end game? In Vanguard, odds are have people that really enjoy playing mmo's so the likelyhood that bards in endgame guilds are retarded is likely small. So that limits it to class utility, still played well of course.

You need like one psi per raid group for encounters that require CC and/or charms. However, they're generally considered as shitty dps due to various issues with threat control, from what I understand. They're next on the list of revamps, so depending on how long you plan to be to hit 50, you might not suffer much from it. While leveling, you're probably looking at soloing with AE kiting instead of grouping, psis aren't very useful for dungeons it seems to me.

Wanted classes would be well, Psis for that one spot, rogues/monks for dps spots, maybe tanks but most of the time it seems every guild has enough tanks, some healers but it seems not cleric or bloodmage, more like disc and bear shamans and that's about it I guess. Then obviously it depends on the guild itself, if their bards just quit the game they'll be looking for bards and so on, and also the server.

Psis are cool and probably more needed than bards (see Kcxiv's comments -- there are a lot of bards) in the endgame. Ultimately I'd just play the class you like the most. If you're good you'll get into any guild whether you're a psi or bard or etc.
