| Drugs are bad m'kay? Next time take them after you post. If you're going to do the standard VG bash (all well in good) go for some specifics next time -- here are some examples: APW lag sucks and you can't believe that SOE could fuck up a patch like that or the new BOP itemization combined with lack of decons means that 90% of all named encounters are worthless or the Griffon quest relying on a rare named contestable spawn is shitastic or the fact that even basic AA's aren't in the game a year and a half after players first hit the level cap is mind numbingly retarded. Cheers

| I actually love the OT named and how it works. That kind of have the EQ feel for it. 4-5 groups sometimes more see'ing who can get the mob first. They also have to win, becuase them 1 group encounters are fucking hard. Akande is a bitch. |

| I'm not going in for that elusive but definitive Vanguard bash. The game fell way short of glory, but I wasn't trying to put Vanguard down. It is what it is. I was actually trying to pin down that vein of sentiments for MMO gaming in general that just dried up after Vanguard. Yea, I guess I'm just one of those many before me who just couldn't keep an interest in MMO gaming, not because of time issues but because of uninteresting developments. I just never thought i wouldn't be interested in this genre, it was always so appealing to me. Drugs made these thoughts seem more interesting than they should have, so I laboriously hacked out a post about how I felt on the issue. It wasn't an attack on the state of the game so much as a boring sigh from an unenthused gamer. Sorry to cause so much vitriol. |

| The Littlest Hobo of MMOs | If you're talking appearance that's entirely subjective. If you're talking reliability, well, I don't ever remember a WoW flying mount vanishing under me in mid air and dropping me to my death because I flew thousands of feet above the ground over a, "no land mount" area. |

| There's a 10m feather fall buff that triggers if your mount vanishes at a chunk that makes it difficult to die.

Check your starting city or nearby for dip quests in that range. There are a few cool items (e.g. best mount barding in the game) that are only available through dip. Dip is necessary for raiding -- but most guilds already have their level 50 dip guys so you're good. Hunter's League: Never did those quests. I did the Tsang weapon quests in Kojan which IIRC are about the same level and had better weapons. I had a Tsang guide (now somewhat outdated) on vanguardservers.com ages ago. CIS: You'll start that around 22 in CIS. Go to the main camp in CIS (Donovon's Roost? Can't remember) you'll talk to the main archeologist and eventually get the basic quest (earring or cloak). Those are in the Infineum Mines area. The hardest stage in the early quest line is at one point you'll be fighting a book and you'll be asked some riddles. The answers are the brown text that various infineum members speak -- or you can just occ and get some help. After cloak/earring you'll move to the area behind the infieum mines for the basic weapon quest -- this is kinda fun you get to wear a robe and pretend to be a cultist. There is an odd level gap between the Ages questline and the main temple -- you'll finish Ages around 25 and you won't really want to do Temple until you're 27 or 28. What most people do at this time are the early River Valley quests from the Shidreth Mining company at the base of the large hill where the temple is. Send me a tell in game if you have any questions about a particular quest -- I'll try to remember ;-)

You get all the main pieces of armor and a kick ass weapon, highly recommend it as most are always LFG to do it more so the Tsangs.

| Registered User | We started a couple characters on Seradon. Planning on mostly pure duo, we'll see how that works. I imagine there are some quests we won't be able to do or will have to severely out level to complete. Monk/Disc seems like a pretty complimentary team so far. Game has come a long way since I last played (late beta). Still buggy, and swimming in this game makes me want to throw things. I knew blood mage was badass, but disciple is awesome so far as well. Healing in this game is so much more fun than in any other. Defensive targetting of course has a lot to do with that. Anyhow, I'm around on Seradon, named Thyrax. I'm not sure if we'll be joining a guild or just putzing around randomly. |

| You get the feather buff too if you fly into a no fly area. I did that lastnight while afk flying to OT. Luckily i can solo about 6-8 at once unless they go stun crazy. |

| I'm excited to see some of you on Seradon. Let me preface what I'm about to say with the following statement: I've been raiding APW hardcore (as hardcore as you possibly can) for about three months. I've been in Telon since beta 1.5, and have contributed a lot of time on forums, in-game, and in email discussion with designers and players alike, hoping to make this game into all that it could be. Ready? Yesterday I cancelled my account. It's not Age of Conan, it's not any other game that is around the corner. It's because of the fundamentally flawed game, at it's core. 1. Impossible hitching / stuttering. Machine doesn't matter. 2. Lack of bug-free content. 3. Lack of high-end content. 4. Lack of production support (financially) to fix issues that need it. I'll shed a little light on one current situation. Trial Island has been in development for months now; a place where "new players" to the game can experience together the beginning stages of the game. There is a team devoted to the development of Trial Island. In Silius' own words, the development of Trial Island is such an onerous task that it is delaying even the "possibility of starting on an expansion or more content." (/quote). If that isn't enough to finally pull your head out of the Vanguard clouds, how about the latest patch which introduced the reduced-hitching code? I logged in after patch and was promptly disconnected. I waited a day and logged in again; disconnected. I logged in on my laptop and was disconnected. I strongly urge you to enjoy the game, if you do. You will see once you set foot in APW that there really is no high end content (read: APW was cleared by Pain within 1 month of release) other than a few mobs who all drop armor molds. When you realize the extreme lack of high-end content (yes, AA's are a part of that too) coupled with the extreme lack of production support, coupled with the extreme lack of players - perhaps you will think about what it means to enjoy a game. --- I'm on Zug as Skullfrak, if any of you louts want some Black Lotus. I hear Stygian's the best.
