Man, I am having fun.

First - The bad. The game is more buggy than just about any game I've played since Lineage 2 beta. Holy crap.

I have to /flush yes about every 15 minutes. Either rift window won't show up, or tradeskill, or spell book, or something.
Quest options just won't take. It'll give me a dialogue and a list of options, I'll check one, it'll take me to a new screen with just the same options, and nothing will happen if I click those. I've had a few quests I could just not finish because of this.
Will log out in a cave or building and log back in on top of said cave or building.
People/mobs fall through the floor while moving a ton.

And some other random stuff.

But even with the bugs, I'm still having a really, really awesome time so far. Combat is the best in any MMO I've played. Quests are reasonable, diplomacy is a good side game and crafting is not obnoxious. The game is so big too, you get to the main city for the first time and there's so much shit and at first it's a little frustrating to have no idea where stuff is or what stuff does, but then you realize you'll learn it and it's worth it to have some mystery.

Hopefully this will last me a while

Kojani Paladin + Goblin Bloodmage, Grahamiam and Chakora on Seradon.

Edit - Just logged on right after posting this and half my default UI just didn't show up. So ridiculous the number of basic bugs I've run into already.

Anyone still playing Vanguard? If so, on what server? My roomate and I are going to try it out. I haven't played since open beta. We were going to do a monk/disc duo to start out, and go from there.

I'd wait until the end of the AoC 30-day free period before resubbing (which is in a week or two? Can't remember when it was released). VG took a big hit when people left to try out AoC, some of whom will return after the 30day period (and some?many? will not). And Seradon ftw.

Podcast was interesting but that woman was annoying, constantly talking over and interrupting Silius

Girlfriend and I are playing on Seradon, we've been playing casually for a week now and are lvl 16.

I wouldn't use us a reason to roll on Seradon though, we're part of the ADD gamers and will probably get bored with it at max level.

Send me a tell ingame I'll see if I can help you out a bit. Finally back after my month and a half break. APW lag is annoying but the game looks better than I remember. The ambient lighting in Khal looks great.

But holy crap does VG need AA badly.

That was Luper. She's as hardcore as it gets. Plus she's hawt. She was meant to talk like that. Silius gave them over 2 hours i think to answer questions.

The issues with BOP non-decon named drops are:
(1) It sucks if you get a BOP drop from kililng a named that no one in the party needs/can use and then you can't decon it for at least some kind of reward.
(2) it sucks if you get a BOP drop.... etc.
(3) You end up with no money and no useful item.

The issue with the economy that both Silius and Lupur missed (and why prices aren't really dropping).

Crafters are leaving the game so there are less people crafting and they get to set the price they want. Monopoly it's not just a game by Hasbro.

Tsuji Nozomi on Serado. Kojani DRK. I'm enjoying it, but I got the Living Legacy invite, so I've been playing EQ2, so ignore me for a bit. I'll be back in time, though.

It's time for a late nite ramble . . .

This game is, for me, a lot like the final Star Wars film (episode 3). This game has put an alarmingly abrupt end to my interest in what MMOs provide to the market and where the next few years will be going. Ever since I played EQ, I had always taken a great interest in what MMOs are coming out and what features they have and the amazing places this technology go. Kind of like how the first 3 Star Wars films gets you interested in Sci Fi shit and special effects are always an interesting development in movies afterward.

But, like the last 3 Star Wars films, not only am I no longer interested in future developments, but I feel like someone took a shit on my nostalgia. Yes, I know this is really my own problem, but I think these are pretty wide spread sentiments.

I don't know. This shit just bothers me. It's bizarre how inspiration works. The exact same games that garnered so much inspiration (and that's truly rare in any artform) now do the exact opposite. This must be how it feels to see a genre dry up a little bit. I feel like were in that lull after the Atari but before Nintendo revolutionized gaming. I feel like this type of MMO is a failure and now I just have to wait for something new to pick up this dead inspiration.

This is not to shit on WoW, or to forsee doom for AOC or WAR or AION or whatever is around the corner, I'm just trying to vocalize that deflated sentiment that I feel like Vanguard took the breath away from.

We're up to 18 and still really loving it. Blood Mage really is one of the coolest classes in any MMO ever. I'm a paladin, and we just mow through 3 dots like it's no one's business, and 4 dots are no big deal. The Blood Mage's Charm + Root makes even bad pulls exciting instead of death.

Game is buggy as fuck. I have no idea what the point of diplomacy is, or where any quests are for it after level 5. In order to get her charmed pet to attack, she has to target it after she charms it or it doesn't listen to her. /flush is a way of life. I've gotten stuck on terrain on average once a day.

But man, some of the shit they've done is so good. It's really, really hard to play WoW or EQ without offensive/defensive targeting, that shit needs to get into every game from now on. Being able to level up crafting through work orders with 0 material farming makes me happy as well.

Now, questions. We need to start the Hunter's League and CIS quests soon I take it. Can anyone provide a good link to explain them? All I can figure out on Hunter's League is that the first quest is like lvl 10 in Qa River bank, and then we go to upside down bunker eventuall for it. Can we skip the Qa part?

Nothing annoying about that woman's voice. It's quite hypnotic. She can talk as much as she likes as far as I'm concerned.

Yep. Do the upside stuff, then hit the island to the NW from there for the rest of it up to weapon. After that, it's Seawatch(?) then Stranden Port.
